The constricted afterburner nozzle exhausts are for regular non-afterburner flight, the more open exhaust nozzles are for when the F-14 is at maximum afterburner settings

Nice! Macross Zero probably my favorite spinoff of the OG Macross series.

I just purchased this model from a collector and South Korea. I can’t wait to get it.

Macross has a lot in common with Apple they make beautiful items for inflated prices and their fan boys can be absolutely crazy. If there is some nutty Macross fan who would rather go without a amazing replica (which they will never get from a licensed manufacturer) because the box does not have a little big west sticker on it I feel very sorry for them.

You never fully pushed in the nose gear & door well section into the model; sometimes they fit really snug and the sides have to be shaved down a tiny bit.

@8:54 I couldn't contain the Beavis & Butthead laughter either. Do you plan on making a video for the 0D premium finish?

Please tell me where you got your 1/72 router style stand. The one in the beginning of video. Thanks!

I use like 20 year old flightpose stands. The company has changed hands a couple times since then but I think they still make a similar product.

The only thing I don't like about this model is the price. When Franklin mint was doing 1/48 scale aircraft the price was around $100 each. When they stopped doing dicast aircraft, other companies went smaller scale and higher prices.
@RLDenham4 жыл бұрын
The detail on the smaller 1-72 diecast is WAY BETTER than FM ever did on their 1-48's I have enough of both scales to speak with authority.

Also, the production costs in the era when Franklin Mint was doing diecast and today is very different

I am pretty sure I said this last time, but no integrated landing gear for $160 is unacceptable. Also, that is a knockoff price?
If it's unlicensed, is HG getting any money from this? I don't care that Big West isn't getting any money for this, as long as HG isn't either. Anyway, nice review as always. I'd probably buy one of these, but will have to do more research. If HG is even getting 1 cent, I'm out. HG can go pound sand.

Calibre Wings is some of the worst craftsmanship of any company I’ve ever seen....I wouldn’t buy anything from them!

I have one of the Jolly Rogers. I do like the mold better than Hobbymaster (I have two of those), especially the open bleed air door ducts, metal touch for the cannon fairing, etc. The GE F110 nozzles are gorgeous, as well and generally a fan of how they do the weathering on those models (more than the clean ones). The biggest draw for me was the adjustable weapon configuration on the wing glove pylons. The extra weapons, as well (being able to put 4 x sidewinder, etc. Too bad they didn't include 6 Phoenix so probably wouldn't ever use those pylons. Unfortunately the wing glove pylons are a fiddly mess and the pegs should be twice as deep. Then the uniformity issue Anymoon mentions. One of the Phoenix pylons always wants to fall off, too (should have designed these with a peg to fill the Sparrow fin holes), both two phoenix and one of the sidewinders came off of their pegs. Nothing a dot of glue won't fix but if the draw is different weapon configurations, this should be easier to do.
