What would you say is his best song?
@guy4ever084 жыл бұрын
@@SteveBussaGS This for me is his best yet with Choir and Battlescars well up there too.
I believe it was an older song he penned not actually as a song initially, it was a message/text of hope to his good friend Luke Liang who he used to collab and write with who suffered from mental health issues, probably depression. His other song The Choir was actually written to commemorate him after he took his own life when he lost his personal battle. I can't even pretend to imagine how hard it was to find the words to write this in a situation like that. Credit to the man for his masterpiece creation because it is the best song I have heard in years. There are sometimes songs that help you deal with a pain or a situation that life has brought about, but this one is describing one of life's hardest experiences but giving a message of hope which never should ve forgotten. It is as precious as the souls we have lost. Beautiful review my friend. 👏👏👏

Your analysis is definitely eye opening, I look at it completely differently now, and with even more respect, thank you. I’ve followed Guy since he was on, and won Australian Idol, back in 2003, and boy has he evolved, musically, in his writing and lyrics, and even his appearance! He has had a great deal of heartache around him, through having some those he loves dealing with depression, and even take their own lives, and he has brought it to his music in an amazing way, and I believe helping others too. Your passion and heart are so obvious in your reactions, never change👍 from Australia 🇦🇺

Personally, I felt like each individual was going through their own darkness, depression/anxiety etc and after having someone like Guy say “I’m Standing with you tonight” healing takes place... bringing what they are holding, back to life. Just my interpretation. He surprised a school and sung this song and it was the kids favourite song, a few of them were in tears... that is the power of an artist who has so much soul and depth in his art. Thanks for this review! It’s also one of my favourite! I remember he mentioned the song was written about a friend of his going through depression.
@SK91_LT924 жыл бұрын
I really enjoyed your reaction it was soo inspiring. I loved your way of interpretation 👍 My interpretation was like that the MV was intended to be a metaphor for mental illness. People with mental issues tend to have negativ thoughts and toxic beliefs which let them stuck in a pattern of "everything is bad and gone, nothing worth to fight for". So I would interpret the train as the pattern of blind, dark and negativ thoughts in our minds which drives us away from the reality. Where the rain reflects the shifting process from negativ to positiv thoughts. Almost like crying. Usually the crying is followed by relief and some sort of strength. It's raining and then the clouds clear up and the sunlight is showing throu. When you get rid of all these negativ beliefs you can feel joy and gratitute again and realize that, all the bad things you thought happend to you, wasn't as bad as you beliefed. Stapping out of the train means getting back on track and sitting on the drivers seat of your own life and suddenly your living your life with more appreciation. ✌️ Guy Sebastian tho is a representation of someone who is supportively "standing with you" while your going through all that and silently walks you towards the happiness. And him sitting on the train at the beginning could be interpret like "I was there too, I can relate to what you're feeling and thinking right now". Love to hear your opinion about my interpretation 🌺

Takes me straight to thoughts of my brother, who is suicidal and has struggled with schizophrenia all his life. Your interpretation was great though. Gury wrote this song to deal with Depression and Mental Health issues that exist in his personal family. He realized and knew that just talking and telling someone who's suffering what they need to do to get better is not always or hardly ever the right thing, so as they song says, "he's simply standing with them, through their pain, and he doesn't want them to sink into their mental health issues and commit suicide. Its not a religious song, just one with a very Powerful, very Important message that he wanted to put out there from his experience of dealing with personal Mental Health struggles in his family. Its an amazingly well written song, very powerful and I volunteer with Mental Health patients and I've used this song and recommended it to people so many times because it says everything that someone who is hurting and perhaps thinking of ending their life needs to hear.

My interpretation is that they started off suffering from various forms of depression. They are on this dark train and outside is all wet and miserable. Someone stands with them through the journey, not really doing or saying much but just being there with them. Eventually things get better, the sun is shining again, things they thought were broken/dead are alive again and they walk out of the darkness.
