Love the quad racer great machines simple powerful lightweight the way all quads should be. Imagine if they kept putting money into the 2 stroke what would they be today. The quad racer was very competitive won many races really wasn’t far behind the honda. Legend gary denton started his race career on the Suzuki. My opinion with the right parts and mods still very competitive today. Specially the gen 3 91-92 probably one of the greatest all around quads ever built.

That graphics scheme is actually from a 1990, not 1987. Very nice bike BTW, you did well. The 85/86's are not given the love they deserve IMO. With bumped compression, a bigger carb, some mild porting and a pipe THEY RIP big time. Nice bike!

Exactly. I had the '85 QuadRacer, and the look was entirely different. I always wondered if it had the genuine Full Floater system. I can't find the answer anywhere, but the photos suggest it is.

it has some serious aftermarket A-Arms. they look like plus 3 and 85’ front end is super narrow. it widened up in 87’ but the 85’ was narrow.

I've been wrenching on my three 86's all summer. I found I can buy a wide front end, a durablue axle and Elka shocks all around for about $3000 total.

Haha 😂 sounds bout right when you own an lt or two it’s a mission to source parts sometimes i luckily purchased a storage full of lt250r parts and zilla

not sure how fair or interesting it would be because the yfz is dyno tuned at 47.5 hp now on pump gas which is a pretty good jump from the 33hp it had at the wheels stock. but..... once i get a moment and go through the 250 and get some fresh tires on it so it's safe i plan on getting it dyno tested while stock to see what it makes at the wheels and maybe then we could drag the KFX450 while it is stock for a more interesting comparison
