Even worse: the whole "dependent and independent variable" thing is *not* a requirement for a scientific experiment. It just isn't, no matter how often the angry banhammer flerf keeps shouting it. Variables are only needed if you want to make sure that that one particular variable is responsible for the experiment's result. And even if you have multiple dependent variables that is *still* a valid scientific experiment, it's just not particularly clear on what the effect of each of the variables is on the result. For TFE you can indeed argue that latitude and hours of daylight are the variables but like above: we don't really care which variable causes the result, only that the result exists. The only thing that we have to make sure is that the variables are not "we are on the north pole at the time when we expect there to be a 24hr sun at the north pole". In the flerf model the sun floats above us in a circle around the north pole. This means that only the north pole can have a 24hr sun. If there are any other locations on the planet that have a 24hr sun then: A) the flat earth model cannot be correct because the sun cannot circle two locations at the same time. B) reality comports with the prediction of the globe model.

I have always found it incredibly confounding that we have models that are based on the geometry of the Earth and its motion around the sun, that correctly predict what we should see in the sky and how far we should see on the ground, and *somehow* it just does this by mere coincidence. What you’re doing with TFE is really cool. Doing something that has never been done and gathering new information to try and figure out how the luminaires work. With that being said the name of it is ridiculous. It’s an observation. At this point there have been hundreds of observations done on the FE side to falsify the globe and disprove curvature. But the globe side denies all these observations and comes up with lame excuses or continues to move the goal post to keep their already established beliefs. The Bedford Level thingy is just ONE of the observational experiments. Anyone remember the guy who years ago worked in Antarctica, later on turned flat and even later on 'seemed to remember' the sun werent there at all times. The flat earthers take it as proof of a setting sun. The argument is, he said so, and Oakley got it on video. Oakley is really proud of his "I got it on video -moment". If that is a valid argument, then *anything* shown or said in a video must be true. For some reason I dont think that is a valid argument.

YESSSSS! Dave McKeegan is cool and all but….. We need a full blown old school sarcastic “asshole” to really twist the knife in from every angle! Professor Dave reminds me of myself (except I’m not super duper smart 😂) Dave argues the way I like. He makes them feel intimidated and talks to them in a way that they understand. He breaks it down surgically yet in a way it’s easily digestible to minimise any slither of hope they can wriggle out of the question without making it look obvious. He will then drill down harder and steer them away from word salad and repeat the question. No escaping dave. They usually are then backed into a corner where dave will repeatedly and metaphorically xxxxxxxx them untill they look obviously worn down and helpless. This is the enforcer we need. Someone who will kick a flatty while they are down and then kerb stomp the lies out of them :)

I totally agree. I have watched the famous humiliation of Dave Weiss by Professor Dave several times, and each time it's tough to keep all the liquids inside of my body the moment Weiss is so desperate saying "spectroscopy needs to be in a container" 🤣 However I think Dave McKeegan is absolutely the right person to go to Antarctica. He is a decent and calm person. He knows a lot as well, and he is a photographer. I'd say the "full blown old school sarcastic “asshole”" is needed afterwards, when flerfers desperately try to find their ridiculous final excuses for the 24h sun.

No, like any experiment with a different outcome than expected, we'd shift our thinking, try it again, etc. scientific method requires repeating the experiment(s), and noting all info. One time is never a definitive experiment for anything. Replication, duplication, observation, etc. U think the lightbulb was built correctly the first try???

Go to Norway and you can experience a 24-hour sun every year from late april to late august every year. You don't even have to go go Antarctica. For the record, I live in Norway, and I have been all the way north countless times and experienced it for myself.
