In my case, my old mentally ill mother is not going to last long. Sometimes she eats.. sometimes she drinks water. She is in a care home which is 1 1/2 hours away by bus. My family expects me to give my life to her. I already brought up my doctor son single handedly. Yet, nobody cares for my mom. She has suffered all her life. And oh, the accuracy… I recently reached out to my mom (who I don’t actually know cause she was 15 when she had me (shocking in itself, I actually have someone helping me look into everything, cause I just don’t know what happened) and it was a closed adoption. So I recently just even found out the last name (cause they change all that / actually hide the information from you in a closed adoption) And the person helping me called my mom’s phone, left a message , and we haven’t heard back…… I was thinking about sending a letter to her address through the person helping me contact her / look into everything But when I didn’t hear anything from the phone call Even though I know it could have been an old number or something, when I myself have changed phone #s like 3 times in the past year&1/2… I kind of just expected not to hear anything… and haven’t sent the letter, at least put the idea on pause Thinking … well I’ve lived my life already this long without a mom, and I’m doing pretty ok. Even though I got ptsd from the adoptive parents in spades 😅 But what’s the U2 quote I’ve seen recently: “Fk the past, kiss the future💖”
