Lol yes makes it feel like a simplified modern MP5. Being able to lock the bolt back like that is great if you do get a super bad jam but you still get last round hold open and a mag release button so best of both worlds on the CZ

The scorpion is a fantastic gun. I have one and everyone loves shooting it. The bolt is massive and the thing is very easy to break down and clean. I've shot thousands of rounds through mine of every weight, and have never had a single malfunction.. not one. If you buy one stock, it does need a few mods, the safeties replaced, better grip and a tailhook mod 1 (folding brace) makes it just about perfect.

@@edrosa3485 no, i don't like shooting hotter loads. I mostly stick to standard load 124 grain or subsonics... sometimes 115 but normally nothing more as far as faster loads. The higher velocity is not super important to me. I prefer the heavier weight and better penetration vs muzzle velocity.

To me, the Evo feels like a plastic Airsoft toy replica, the Sig is a proper all-metal battle proven weapons SYSTEM- in the field calibur changes in seconds, and the piston operation system is bullet proof and significantly cleaner internally for increased long term reliability and accuracy.

Yeah.. and especially when you consider the price difference. I don't understand why sig went with a gas piston design on a pistol caliber sub gun, when the blowback design seems to do the trick. Does anyone know the advantage of doing this? Almost seems like sig added lots of extra complexity where none was needed.

The mass of the piston rod adds to the momentum of the bolt carrier enabling more positive extraction, ejection, chambering, and locking. Also, as the gas is not directed back into the chamber, the weapon stays cleaner longer thus reducing the likelihood of a malfunction. The primary disadvantage to this system is the disruption of the point of aim due to the center of mass changing during the action cycle, and energetic and abrupt stops at the beginning and end of bolt carrier travel. Also, due to the greater mass of moving parts, more gas is required to operate the system.

Once you change out the handguard (to Midwest M-Lok handguard) and the grip (to Apex grip) and install the side folding tailhook brace, CZ Scorpion kind of looks like MP5 but with all the modern upgrades like last round hold open and the magazine release button. And you can also do the "HK" slap if you want to.

I thought my Scorpion trigger was pretty good. Seems like all the major drawbacks belong to the MPX, plus the Scorpion's drawbacks can mostly be fixed pretty cheap (unless someone's issue is the polymer). Plus, mags are 1/3 the price. Great review!

I’m an American and a Marine Corps combat veteran and will say Czechs make world class firearms. Through the years I’ve owned many guns and currently have a VZ58, CZ Bren and today I got an Evo Scorpion. I also have plans for a few of their handguns with the CZ75 at the top of the list.

@@stevezee5568 Well I have CZ SP-01 Tactical as heavy duty, all steel sledgehammer ;-) , it can go with 19 rounds mag. as standard. Normaly it has 18. It has tritium sights. There is polymer version called Phantom. Thats the type military has. Im serving with CZ 75D Compact, Currently called CZ P-01. Alloy and steel. I prefer decocker on a gun as I know from experience as policeman how much it can mean to have round safely chambered. I would bet my life on vz. 58. Any time. Bren 806 or Bren 2 are fine but, no way as reliable and hard working as modernized vz. 58.

A few things.. First, excellent comparison between the two firearms. I immediately got the impression that the most crucial details relevant to both the EVO and the MPX were covered. For someone who is relatively new to this style of pistol, I feel like I got some very good, objective information that was based on performance and fact, not personal preference. I've been considering everything from the EVO to H&K's new SP5K. It's not easy being objective about these, as names like H&K and Sig carry a lot more weight than CZ (IMO). However, the price point of the EVO, the design, the fact that so many people are purchasing them, making them a wildly popular platform which will encourage the secondary accessory market...and the almost unanimous, outstanding reviews, make it a choice you can't go wrong with. I'm looking forward not only to shooting and modding it, but also seeing what 3rd party manufacturers come up with to make the platform even better. Well done, guys!

I was shocked when I found out that all 3 of these companies are so close to each other. You should arrange some factory tours and bang out all 3 in one trip. Yeah, there are a lot of people that won't suppress this, so that cuts out the subjective gas issue. There are also people that won't sbr any of these so you have to consider what's best in those circumstances. I know many that won't pay 400 dollars for 2 tax stamps and many more that intend to go all the way but suddenly they loose interest. I am glad sub guns are finding a place in people's collection no matter who makes them. Truly my favorite firearms to shoot.

Thanks for the video. Just in time for me too as I was considering both of these. As I live in a state that does not allow suppressors, the gassing isn't a factor in my decision. But just as you hit on, price was a huge factor for me. The EVO is less expensive to buy and to buy accessories for, such as magazines. The firearm just hits on most of the points for me. I have both. Recoil is better on the MPX and I have a Geissle trigger on the MPX. Scorpion has better ergos. Cajun Gun Works is almost done with their trigger spring kit for the Scorpion. While I have gotten used to the T charging handle, a side charging handle is so much easier in my opinion.

I have a CZ75 and a CZ 550 308. CZ makes fantastic firearms. Next on my CZ list is the little 527 carbine rifle that fires 7.62x39

Great Video, I own the MPX since August and have had zero issues, but I don't have it suppressed yet. Yes mags are hard to get I ordered mine on 08/08 and they just shipped today. Now if you bought a new MPX sig does give you a discount on the 3 mags and holder for $140.00. Normally it would be ~$240 if you had purchased separately. And the other thing I was surprised you did not discuss was that the SIG will allow caliber change.

I have a binary trigger in my Scorpion micro and I've put at least 5000 rounds through it without any issues whatsoever. I read somewhere that the internals are the same as the ones used for the scorpions made for the Czech military and are rated for select fire. The thing is a tank wrapped in polymer.

Easy choice for me, Scorpion Evo... They can had for 700-900 Vs 1300-1600. .. The mags are affordable and translucent ... The Scorpion is just as reliable& and is much better suppressed... And the Scorpion just looks cooler... Plus I just think CZ is a better company these days... Sure the Sig 550 series and P220/226/229 are legends and amazing; however think of Exeter Sig guns over the last 15 years and all the issues and non success ... The 556xi, the 556, the drop fires and trigger breaking of the 320, and the primer drag issues of the 365... It seems like Quaility of Sig weapons has slackened considerably over the last 15 year's... Compare that to CZ where the 75 Sp01 tactical, Phantom, P07, and Been 805 have all been hits and have been well received with minimal issues from everything I've seen.. I just think CZ > Sig as a company right now... Also even though CZ is not American, The Czech Republic is one of the most red pilled countries in Europe and has fought against ridiculous measures by the EU along with Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia... So I'm happy to support CZ (I already have a Been 805 and enjoy it, and look forward to getting a Scorpion Carbine and a CZ 75 Sp01 Tac)

To get rid of the gas blowback I took some gasket sealer to the charging handle. Coat the upper with some Vaseline to keep the gasket sealer from sticking to it. Run a bead of gasket sealer into the pocket of the charging handle then slide it into the upper to the charged position. Wipe off the excess and let it dry over nite. When dry, open the charging handle and trim off any excess and wipe off the Vaseline. You will find it’s much better at eliminating the blow back.

It is not all about the price my friend. You should count the quality too. EVO is not a bad PCC, but I am from Czech Republic and believe me, nobody here would put the EVO above the MPX. You always get what you pay for, make no mistake about it ;-)

Evo owner here. The massive bolt of the straight blowback makes it jump way more than a 9mm should. It’s completely serviceable. I spent some money on a magpul pistol grip, picatinny rail covers, and a VFG for quality of life improvement, but it’s by no means equivalent to an MPX. The value of the evo can’t be beat, especially with mags on the MPX being so expensive. Ultimately, it’s personal preference though.

You know with the existence of the 300BLk in subsonic and supersonic, I can say that many of us would rather invest in an MCX rather than a MPX. The new Sig MCX with the folding stock and a short barrel with a suppressor can be a very small package. So PLEASE do a video on the MCX! I am not sure that I trust the "self regulating" gas piston of the MCX. I saw a prototype with a two position switch. I hear of issues of the MCX bolt not locking back with subs. These are things (and more) that many of us would like to see YOU address. We like and trust you because unlike many other channels who experience problems, you will follow up with videos describing what did or did not get fixed.

Honestly, if I was to run either of these platforms suppressed, I'd just go with an integrally suppressed Evo. With the money left over you can easily remediate some of the small annoyances like the trigger and safety. If you want to go even further you could probably put a different lower on it.

I love SIG and CZ, but the price difference in this case is too large to ignore. I wouldn't even consider buying the MPX based solely on the $500 price premium. For the same price as the SIG I could buy the Evo, an SBR tax stamp, a few mags, and still have enough money to buy 1000 rounds of 9mm.

Just had this decision to make between a MPX or EVO 3 S2 Micro, I had no budget so that wasn’t a factor. The main factor for me was the amount of gas blow back in the face you get with the MPX while suppressed as well as how much characteristics the MOX shares with an AR15, I wanted something different, as I have 9 different AR’s size and caliber wise. I went with the EVO 3 S2 and very happy with it so far. It does need the HB industries trigger spring kit and the fire select delete for the right side so it’s not digging into your trigger finger. I will be also changing the grip as well. All in all I am very happy with my decision. CZ makes amazing products.

You know I have watched a bunch of these comparison videos and one thing they ALL have in common is the fact that these "pistols" all would be better to shoot as an SBR. Then it dawned on me, no wonder the Stormtroopers in the Star Wars movies all sucked at shooting. That had blasters with foldable stocks on them and yet they all shot them like these pistols. Not one stormtrooper unfolded that stock (British Sterlings btw) to shoot at the rebels.

those long barrel pistols are great for home defence. all advantages of an ar in a compact desig to move around corners. 9mm has a wide range of round designs. from ultra silent to non drywall penetration and also drywall penetration. i doubt you want to shoot a full blown m4 with 5.56 or an ak with 7.62 in you home. you just destroy your ears and meybe kill a loved one due to overpenetration.

This is gonna probably sound stupid but that pistol stock on the Sig is it legal to use the stock like that instead of clapping it to your arm and firing it like a handgun? I was at my local range/gun store and asked them about this and they said "the moment you press that stock to your shoulder without an F1 you are commiting a felony", so does it very per state or something?

my understanding is that it is illegal to install it with the intent to use it as a shoulder stock. so you're breaking the law at the time of installation with the intent to shoulder it, not the time of shouldering. shouldering it is just the evidence of your intent. IANAL that's just my understanding when reading the opinion, and when reading the law.

It would be a felony if it wasn't registered as an SBR. If you hold it on your cheek that's legal, if you one hand it also legal. Put the brace on your shoulder and it's a felony
