I upgraded to the Scorpion EXO ADX-2 helmet at the beginning of the year after my ADX-1 was retired after a big crash into a sand dune.
Here's my honest review of the helmet - both it's good points and bad - that I've discovered over my 8 months running it as my primary helmet.

hi, think I tend to agree pretty much with everything you said. I bought mine for a tour of france in may 2023. I had stunning heat and stunning rain..... In Heat it was ok, the ability to lift the chin helped cool things, however I wouldn't want to ride long distances with the chin up as it acts like a sail... And the strain on the neck ain't good. I had no rain leakage issues but I did have steaming up even with the pin lock, the vents did little to reduce this so I had to crack open the visor when raining while the chin was down. BUT, you can't crack it open a little, the visor will only open all the way up, so I found a way of twisting the visor open with a gap of about an inch which helped clear the visor of condensation. Noise was / is an issue. Wind noise is pretty bad on mine. So I taped up the seams when I was on long motorway runs down to dover from where I live in UK. 6 hrs of wind in your ear lugs ain't good. It is also a touch heavy. I love the look and the peak. I prefer and use the LS2 with the chin that rotates all the way to the back of the helmet. Which I tent to use fully open all of the time even in winter, only time I tend to close up is on motorways etc doing speed. Modular helmets are the only helmet I want going forward. Save your money by something like the LS2.

Love my ADX 2. Slightly noisy, but its an adventure helmet with lots of bits sticking out. Weight isn't an issue for me. Yet to ride in the rain, but I'm more than happy with it.

I’ve had mine over a year now and tbh I hate it. It’s heavy, it’s loud as hell, the sun visor is flimsy and the screws that hold it on are forever coming loose. I really wanted to love this helmet but think I’ll have to get something else

Weight: according to standards ECE 22.06 measuring with options assembled. The previous 22.05 did not impose this. I will make the test as soon my new adx-2 arrives..

Hi, could you tell me how you unmounted the chin curtain?

Hey, it’s clipped on in a similar fashion to the cheek pads. I just carefully pulled it from one side and then the other to remove it.

Was about to pull the trigger on an adx 2 but the seals comment has given me pause (I run a naked bike in UK weather). If you could get you hands on an adx1, would you switch back? (I can get an adx1 for £125 or adx2 for £160).

I’d still go the 2. The water getting behind the visor is annoying but something I can live with personally. The 1 isn’t nearly as comfortable and the controls are much more intuitive on the 2.

Hi, i'm considering buying this helmet but iam worried about my glasses does yours fit fine ? I had the opportunity to try it on since my dad has one and it fitted perfectly but i had hard time to fit the glasses in do i need to change cheekpads ? Thanks for the answer.

Glasses go ok. I think the shape of the arms largely dictates comfort. Mine are usually fine for a few hours before I need to readjust them.

Weight: new adx-2 (size M) is indicated with 1800gr+/-50 according to size. Incl. the pinlock assembled i measured 1934gr ... plus intercom plus eventually gopro, its becoming heavy (but probably only a problem during accident, not during riding at least for me). Paid 177,-eur , therefore no complaints possible, considering also the good quality of material and assembly; its on the level of my shoei neotec 2, also the weight!

I also bought one recently. Yes it’s heavy, and also I get some bad vibes with the visor on my GSA, I’ve moved the screen up and down but it’s not really helped, but disappointed really

How’s your visor for weather tightness? Interesting about the vibes on the GSA. I found the ADX1 tooth rattling bad while the Moto Morini X-Cape last year when I originally tested it and the ADX2 is much better in that regard on that particular model of bike. I have found myself riding sans peak mostly with the 2 as I’ve got an HJC dirt helmet for when I really need a peaked helmet.

@@OnThrottle I’ve not ridden in the rain just yet, my shoei neotec also allows water drops in occasionally too, even though it’s been adjusted

Some are easier/more comfortable than others. It depends on the frames.

2 question.. 1. Do u feel heavy or neck pain during riding aka 3 4 hours ride 2. Sizing..mostly im using L size (neotec 2/caberg) then i try this Helmet with L size..it quite comfort before chin bar is closed..when the bar is lock down..i barely can move my mouth..demm tight..does it break in later or should i go upsize..?
@OnThrottle
@OnThrottle 9 ай бұрын
1. You get used to the weight but if I’ve not ridden for a month or so with it I feel it. 2. Most modular helmets are like that as they need the extra squeeze to ensure a secure fit. Try an XL on for size but make sure it doesn’t move excessively when latched closed.
