This MK movie was soooooo much better than the original one. Wayyyyy better casting for some characters like Sonya, Kano, Raiden,Liu Kang. They had a so much better CGI Goro instead of an animatronic and they actually made Scorpion’s kunai accurate to the games instead of making it some sort of plant creature that comes out of his hand. The list goes on and on, this movie has potential to be successful even if 1 or 2 characters were poorly done like Johnny Cage

What are you talking about. Scorpion vs johnny cage is way better. The stunts were amazing, the karate with flying kicks made it a true martial arts movie,. This fight feels heavy with slow movements and it got ruined by the 2 v 1 fight

+ShonnyFide I have to strongly disagree, this fight scene is poorly edited. Instead of longer takes with more fluid and rehearsed choreography, it's just quick cuts spliced together, no more than one or two strikes per cut. The fight scene with Johnny Cage (Linden Ashby) vs Scorpion from the first Mortal Kombat blows this choppy quick cut crap out of the water.

What i kinda hated about this scene was that they really didnt use enough of Hanzo's Nether realm powers. Nor his Nether realm skele face. Yeah it would've been cheesy, but it would've played to the character. Overall the choreography was amazing.

So an interesting thing about this movie is that they wanted the costumes to be more culturally appropriate than they were in the games, especially the early ones. So Scorpions was made to look more like samurai armor with input from the actor. Keep in mind, in real life, ninja often didn't wear any armor and mostly wore just normal clothes. Sub-Zero's costume was designed to look more like Chinese armor. Yes, ninja-Chinese armor, which was never really a thing, but still, the inspiration is there. You can even see it in how each costume is put together.

Honestly ruined the story by adding crap like that into it. Random new character. Liu Kang and king Lao sucked. Raiden sucked. Only scorpion and subzero were good rest of the movie sucked. Old movies were way better just didn't have good cgi
