I am so stuck with this move :( I grab my ankle and it feels like my shin is going to snap, getting used to it but my brain wont let my hand release the pole!! Any tips for getting over this brain block, I had the same with the invert and it has taken 6 months to manage to get it!! I am not hugely overweight but do carry a little extra, perhaps this why my leg hurts (156cm tall and about 60kg) but have lost nearly 10kg in the last year since starting pole

I dont think it is a problen of your weight. It is hard to tell you what to do over a comment tbh. If you wish we could schedule a private "checkin" pole session to see if we can find what hinders you. As a llittle pointer I can give you: Make sure to have the pole right in your knee pit. If it is too far out, on your calf for example it will hurt and maybe this is where your sensation comes from. If you look closely, my crossed foot is pointed downwards more like in a leg hang and less than trying to block the pole from going through the leg if that makes sense.

It's ok, use a mat or pillows if you are scared and try it low in the pole first, that way you can place your hands or elbows on the floor if you feel like you are sliding
