Mattias is the whole package, and what a great bunch of writers these guys are too. They just know how to make music sound appealing and melodic, etc,. Thanks so much for this video. I was stuck on a couple parts and this helped so much man! Thanks again. Really appreciate your help on here!

Agreed, Matthias was (and is) the total package and egregiously underrated. And don't forget that tone he had. Holy hell he had the most wickedly smooth hot sound going at the time which is still unmatched to this day. I've often wondered what effects he used for that blistering cascading intro for this song. To my ear it sounds like some slight modulation with some double tracking with a little spacing between the tracks to really fill it out along with some really good eq mixing on the mixing board. Great instruction video by the way.

Mike, you should pay homage to the 80's hair metal scene by transcribing Kiss of Death by Dokken. It's a awesome solo and I'm sure we both know George Lynch is a boss :)

Not sure where to request something but I’d love to properly learn a rarely heard tune called “Shakin Brains” by Silver Mountain. It’s Old school metal and a hard to find! I gotta catch up to your other vids.

Awesome video as always! Random question, which is your favorite guitar? I have a schecter c1 hellraiser but still prefer my ibanez rg270. Might be a lower end guitar but the ibanez just feels better to play.

Great video. Hey Mike. Just so you know. THe J in German is like a "Y" in English. So Mattias' name is pronounced "YABBS" in german. Just thought you'd want to know. :-) One of my favorite players too. I saw them headline way back in like 1982 or so. It was Scorps and Iron Maiden opened for them on the "Number of the beast tour" .. Great show. But, Jabbs is just a machine along with Shenker. Those two are machines man. Love his leads too as you say, and he's way under rated. I think he's right up there with many players that are much more recognized. They started Arena Melodic rock I think. Thanks again man!
