+StoneColdHunk I totally agree! This scene was very well acted, it really made you feel the feels of the scene. Every fan knew at some point in the show that the breakdown was going to happen and glad that Walter had his friends around to comfort him during his breakdown. Even when Walter was about to cry, you could see the emotions on everyone's face including Sylvester, and you could see the tears in his eyes.

For me, this was the best portrayal of grief I’ve ever seen on television or cinema. The worst part of someone you love dying isn’t the day itself, it’s all the days they stay dead and that pain hits you irregularly and sporadically. I haven’t actually related my grief to anything on screen until I saw this scene. Shame scorpion got cancelled

Holding in pain is the most punishing thing we can do to ourselves. The expression on Walters face as he tries to resist the empathic embrace of Paige was a great piece of acting, Elyes. It conveys that for this Walter O'Brien release was needed. Beautiful scene ending with the group hug. I'm not ashamed to admit that I sobbed aloud and was grateful for the release of pain.

Hi there H Hop. Sorry for your loss. I went through that when I found out my cousin died unexpectedly. She was like a sister to me. I was at work (on a railroad) when I found out. I almost broke down crying in front of 2 of my co-workers. Now fast forward 3 years later, and I'm about to lose my job on the railroad. When my boss told me, I reacted almost the same way Walter did. I came close to losing it in front of my boss. It was the most emotional experience of my life.

Actually, Walter substituted the ferret for Megan (in the beginning of the episode he talks to the ferret about the research he did trying to save Megan). And now, to lose her again? That would be too much for anyone to take, so the whole hell breaks loose. Anyway, EG's acting is brilliant, from the dorky faces he makes sometimes, just like someone who spent most of his life in front of a computer, to the way he stutters or chokes on his own words when particular topics come into discussion, to this scene right here...
@ListenToyourHeart98986 жыл бұрын
This is one of the reasons why I love Walter so much this is the real him the one he is trying to hide but in this scene he couldn’t do it anymore because he had lost the one person who really truly understood him when no one else did his sister was that for him until he met Paige and she became that person for him then

The richest thing a human can possess is being human. Money, brains, beauty or brawn, nothing compares to the raw emotion of love. Whether it's being in love or the loss of a loved one, being human, truly human is the capacity to love and be loved. If you believe in God, then this is best gift he has given us. If you don't believe in God, then this is ultimate evolution of animals on this planet. The ability to love. I had a tear in my eye when watching this part of the episode.

Given his track record and confidence in abilities, he had genuine belief and barely any doubt (if any) that he would cure his sister. (Not sure if he realised that would mean curing MS - a game changer for humanity.) It's gotta hurt even more, when his perspective must've made him maybe even feel that a reason he was given these "gifts" was to "fix" his loved ones. Most of us would just be hopeless in the first place. Fixed the world's most impossible problems but couldn't fix the one problem that he would've thrown out all his achievements for.

I remember when my grandma died I had a breakdown similar months later, during a break I went on a hiking trail we used to always take every weekend since I was 12. There was this hidden game trail no one ever used, my grandma was an apache tracker in her youth so she'd always teach me all these different tricks and signs even seasoned hunters and rangers wouldn't notice. Well there was a clearing at the end of that trail with an old tree stump and log we'd use to have a drink and snacks, during this hike the log my grandma would always sit on had either been removed or rolled away during a storm and I was just gutted after about 20 minutes of sobbing it felt like my steps were lighter and the scenery seemed more colorful. Later that night I had a dream of my grandma and I enjoying some tequila and grilled Panela cheese like we used to, guess she came to check up on her grandson make sure he's alright.

Even some of my co-workers have distanced themselves from me. I'm socially challenged/socially awkward, just like Walter, which doesn't help me much. I acted almost the exact same way where I work when I found out that my cousin died, and she was like a sister to me. My closest friend was a relative's dog, who also recently died.
