Just a point of note on the speed, Canadian road signs were not changed to metric until 1977, meaning that an MPH gauge would be logical to have in a truck from the mid 70s.

The A2HD is the perfect retro rig: a little old, and never seen. It's detailed perfectly, and it's a good starter rig when a trucker is low in funds or just need something to get frieght from Point A to point B to maybe Point C. Goes really well with retro trailers.

the alarm sounds you are saying is due to the electronic beeper being very cheap, so they are used in literally almost everything you need to make sound to beep out. but due to it too common in constructions, it's slowly being phased out for something else that's less white noise-ish.

I wish they would have given us Canadian paint jobs for Canada's 150th, but no they refused. Would have been the perfect opportunity. But thanks for reviewing this truck that it brings a nice smile to my face seeing something Canadian in American Truck Sim! Now Googling anything to do with Scot that I'm quite amused by what I'm seeing. Thanks, Squirrel! You made my day :D Needs more Canadian content :P
@rnreajr91846 жыл бұрын
I've never seen a Scot before and was curious. One look at it and I thought logging truck. They were that simple back then. The chrome accessories seem ridiculous, since it would spend a lot of time off the road, getting smacked by tree branches, splattered with mud, etc. Short exhaust stacks would be typical. The "reverse" lights we called load lights, and were used to kind of see your load in the dark for putting on the chains or straps. The logging trucks in northern California had large steel forks on the sides to secure the logs, so they didn't need to be secured.

Pull up a 1970 White 4000 and you will be surprised. My dad used to drive one when I was a kid. No right hand seat on his. No AC and no Radio. his had a 250 hp 6-71 2 stroke detroit with a 10 speed. as underpowered as that sounds he regularly pulled 50,000 lbs with it. I think it had close to 6:00 gears and topped out at about 55 mph. I used to ride on an upside down 5 gallon bucket. LOL The good old days.
@ItsShane796 жыл бұрын
Awesome, I saw its price in the beginning of the video, only around $50.000 wich is less then half I paid for my Freightliner. Seems this Scot truck (with a 600HP engine) is a good truck to buy and be used by my staff while building up my truck empire. I just let my personel drive these Scot trucks while I keep on trucking in my Freightliner. Thanks for the video Squirrel. ps. I play ATS in VR using my Oculus Rift, so I would have no problem seeing the fuelgage. ;D

Pavel said during the ATS stream before that that they had to schedule a trip out to the US to take reference pictures and sound recordings, and get the 3D and CAD files for a brand they had just signed a license with, so I think it's reasonable to say that International is the brand in question!

Hello from Halifax Nova Scotia. Although I'm from Prince Edward Island originally (province north of Nova Scotia) and I am old enough to have been around when the Scots were on the roads, AND my dad was a full time long haul truck driver, I had no idea that these were made in Nova Scotia.....and by Irving at that! I learned something new today! Thanks Squirrel! A quick search found this video that you and others might find interesting. (I say video but it's just still images set to music). kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKnYZ5WPpc51bZI It's of some Scot trucks and other models in different configurations from around the same era (60's, 70's & early 80's) in and around Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. The 3rd image is pretty cool as it's a Scot truck with and Irving Oil tanker trailer. At about 1:56, you'll see an early 1900's truck loaded up with boxes of King Cole Tea, still produced today in Saint John, New Brunswick. (A neighbouring province). I think my favourite of the video though, is the 1935 White Streamliner designed and made for Labatt's Brewery of London, Ontario. Gorgeous truck! Anyway, thanks again and enjoy!
