I challenge myself to haul a double trailer of limestone out of the biggest quarry I've ever seen in American Truck Sim! The quarry is located just outside of Concepcion del Oro in Mexico and the destination is Pinos.

That ramp after the steep drop said “rampa de frenado” which roughly translates to “ramp to break” so basically it’s there for vehicles to break if they’re going too fast

that ramp at 24:40 is a runaway truck ramp for when a truck loses brakes going downhill. happens when a trucker doesn't manage the speed of their truck coming down correctly and they can't slow it down enough and use the brakes too heavily, you get brake fade and the brakes stop working or they can catch on fire( ive seen it)

«prohibido transporte pesado» means trucks can't drive there, translated does not make as much sense «heavy transport forbiden» BUT taking context into account it would be «heavy haul/loads not allowed» and the fact that it does not state a max tonnage means even an empty truck is not allowed to drive in that road, much less a truck pulling 2 trailers

I've never seen this game, it looks fun. I used to haul dairy in 48 foot smooth bore tankers. Some of my heavier loads were close to 90,000 pounds. Smooth bore trailers have no baffles due to sanitary issues and can be very dangerous to drive because the milk can flow freely back and forth and side to side which can easily flip a truck. Thanks for posting.

Also, that huge ramp with the red line is for runaway trucks which for some reason are unable to brake properly, so they may escape the main road and slow down on the uphill section. There’s quite a lot of those here in South America.

The ramp is a runaway truck ramp. They are designed to help trucks stop if their brakes fail while going down a steep hill and are pretty common in mountainous areas of North America. They're usually covered about a foot deep with sand or fine gravel so the truck sinks into it helping them stop. Of course once you stop you're never moving again without heavy duty towing equipment or a crane so its a much better idea to just take care of your brakes.

I notice that hauling a fairly heavy load you were going from 4th to 5H, if you spit 4th into 4H then proceed to 5H you will only lose about 200 RPM between splits, going from 4th to 5H is at least 800 - 100 RPM difference that takes a long time to recoup. I have hauled 75,000 lbs this way and splitting the higher gears will allow faster acceleration and will aid in getting up to speed.I use the 600hp Cummings with the Fuller 18 split with retarder as well and love the way she splits the higher gears, It would be nice to be able in the future to choose rear diff ratios as well.

When I was younger, for one of my birthdays, I received these two TONKA toys. One was a dump truck, the other a weird flatbed-tipper with a crane. Both where very very large, so much that I could have my younger brother and cousin ride in them at the same time. It also helped that were made mostly of metal.

24:25 - Those ramps are for emergency stop for Trucks that either run out of breaks or can not slow the truck due to mechanical reasons. They are filled with special compound and very lose gravel. When you roll on them, they will sink the truck into the ground forcing the truck to come to a complete emergency stop. many locations throughout USA have these. its also known by a few other names one of them being "bailout ramp". Also if you do happen to roll on these, you WILL need a tow truck to get you out, because your truck will be sunk into the ground. Usually a 60 or 80 -Ton Rotator will do the rescue. Because they also can not roll on the "bailout ramp" as they will also get stuck. so a Rotator use used instead. If you happen to be too far along the "bailout ramp" a crane will do the rescue instead, in replacement of the Rotator wrecker.

Rampa de Frenado, is the emergency "runaway truck" ramp at the bottom of the hill. the red line guides you to it. BTW the large construction signs were letting you know the ramp is currently inoperable, and not to use it; probably due to the crash at the ramps entrance. "Carril Izqierdo solo para rebasar" is left lane for passing only. edit: "Unidad Regional De Seguirdad" is the "Unified Regional Security" department. and the crossed "E"s as you entered the town mean no parking... right next to the two parked trucks lol.

In defense of Squirrels" Mexican/Spanish confusion, living in Arizona all my life, I know I can say that the Spanish used by Mexicans this day and age is a language all its own. Based on Spanish but is not proper Castilian Spanish any more. Catalan and Galician are other regional languages in Spain that also get called Spanish, they have differences but they can at least still talk with each other. Having family that speaks Spanish (Bolivian), you would not believe the difficulty they have trying to talk to Mexicans. As far as they are concerned, Mexicans speak Mexican and they speak Spanish. An example to English would be comparing American English to Queens' English. I'm sure if you asked some British people what we speak in America, many would say "American" and not "English". I guess I would have to agree with them. But I'm being too serious. To have a laugh watch this scene in Austin Powers where they use extreme examples of British slang. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHrEmopnjdetrqM
@seraphina985
@seraphina985 6 жыл бұрын
I dunno most Brits would probably consider it more of an idiosyncratic use of English for the most part, but then most Brits are familiar with the vocabulary from American media anyway so it just sounds a little odd when you refer to the rubbish bin as a trash can or the bonnet and boot of a car as a the hood and trunk for example but it's understood what you meant all the same.

You are quite right. Being an American, I myself never found it all that difficult when watching anything on BBC. I always enjoyed a good episode of "Are you Being Served" growing up. :-) That's more or less how I feel about Mexican Spanish vs Spain Spanish despite my families' disagreements. I grew up listening to Mexican Spanish much more than Spain Spanish, ( they were only around for holidays and such) so I'm more used to the Mexican dialect. I don't understand their problems, I guess the difficulties my family has is mostly having to do with their pride and / or their impatience. Again, I didn't mean to get too serious in my original comment. P.S. to anyone reading. If you never heard of "Are you Being Served" and like old British comedies. Look it up. It has great actors like Mollie Sugden and John Inman. Sadly, they have since left us. But I hope their comedy can be enjoyed and remembered far into the future.

theR1ddle Then again, a 2 minute Google search on what they speak isn't much to ask for, no matter the confusion. There are other languages too that are spoken differently by different ethnicities but you don't see most people getting those messed up.
@yngwiedmb
@yngwiedmb 6 жыл бұрын
Galician and Catalan are different languages than Spanish, as even grammar is not the same although they share some roots. Castillian is commonly used to refer to Spanish as a whole and equivalent to it, although historically it used to be spoken in Castilla mainly. Probably the Queen's English vs American English example is more accurate as mexican variant is still not a language by itself, even considering slang and idioms. As for Squirrel, I don't think he put much thought into it, just a quick reference to the language they speak in Mexico. We all make up words all the time.

From the sound of it, Mexican Spanish is probably more like Jamaican Patois compared to English. Like you can see the links and make out some of what's being said, but still need a translator for a lot of it. (And Canarian Spanish is allegedly like the heavy Scots English version... more understandable than Jamaican, but harder work than American, Australian, New Zealand or South African English...)

Rampa De Frenada "breaking Ramp" It help's if your breaks are fading/failing from heat. In America we have something simular called a run away ramp or emergency ramp if you lose your breaks normally it's filled with sand or gravel. "No Utilce Rampa" Means don't use ramp which I'm guess is to let general traffic know not to use it.

Great video as always Paul. I have another ets2 suggestion for you though: try out the six trailers with dolly, like the trailer combination with three and four that you have done before. It is a challenge, but definately possible, especially for an experienced driver like you are

Doubles like that track better than a single trailer.

@Squirrel. Did you know that Tonka is short for Minnetonka? Yup. That's the Minnesota city where the toy line was born (proud MN native here). Like you, I loved the proper metal Tonka trucks of my youth. These plastic Tonka trucks really make me sad because they really took the fun out of the toy. Cheap plastic that breaks so easily, and leave them outside so they crack in the hot sun.
