Fantastic John! I've done these on the grill before but never had them the right way! YUM!

***** They're addictive, Larry! I'd imagine they'd be really fussy to do on the grill. When you're running a bit low on cholesterol, you really should give them a shot the right way. LOL

Our Twin Life LOL! That could be a perfect name for them. They *are* amazing! I'd never seen them myself, until that night in Nashville, and I had to wonder where they'd been hiding all my life.

THE DRUNK COOK How close my way is to "right" I have no idea, but if you, da masta, approve, then I must not be too far off. I love the things, fat and cholesterol and all!! Screw the cardiologist! LOL! Great to see you here, and I sure am curious to hear the tale of whatever happened this time, that got you this screwed up for this long. And even your eyes? *Not* good! I hope you're on the road to being back with us soon!

Anonymoose's Corner Not even close to the master. That title must be held by a Scotch person, somewhere but you did as good a job as any non Scot. What's a Cardiologist and Cholesterol, is that something we should care about when food tastes that good? hah Tales will be told, a full update is soon coming. Don't want to show my skinny face on cam until I grab another 30 lbs. Maybe by 420 (April 20). Till then...

Damn good stuff! We have a local pub that specializes in these... I also highly recommend sipping on two different single malt scotch whiskies while watching this video like I did LOL
@Anonymoose9 жыл бұрын
foodquig This might qualify as one of those rare occasions when I would sip a single malt scotch, with or without the egg. LOL

Anonymoose's Corner There's at least one perfect single malt for every palate... If I ever hear anyone telling me about not liking scotch, I will ask, "Have you tried them all?"

Moosie!!! Oh man I have to have some. I tried to make these when we came back from ST and it was a total fail! So I'll try them again soon and try it your way. They are soooooooo good! I loved them at that Irish Pub! Didn't we have fun?!!!!! I'm buying the sausage tomorrow! haha. Hugs!

imperceptibleme Ha! Your mention of them is what got me fired up, Melissa, so I blame you. LOL Yeah, that night at McNamara's was a blast! I'd never even heard of Scotch Eggs before then. Good luck with them this time around! And make a video.

FitAnge S LOL! We've gotta be health conscious these days, right? I didn't mention it, but I also fried them in Canola oil. That's good for a few points too, right?The things are absolutely addictive.

that looked really nice. There used to be an english pub near where I lived. I could have walked there if I wanted. They introduced me to scotch eggs and I immediately fell in love with them. I'm going to have to learn how to do these. Watching your video, it didn't look hard. I'm wondering if there would be a difference in taste if one used Italian bread crumbs? When a recipe I'm doing calls for bread crumbs, Italian bread crumbs is what i use. I love the flavor.
@Anonymoose9 жыл бұрын
+Brian Yach Scotch eggs are sinful and addictive, and *SO* good. I love them. They're not especially difficult. Getting the sausage formed around them might take a couple of tries the first time, but you get the hang of it. Purists would probably be horrified, but not only did I use Italian sausage, but those were Italian bread crumbs. I also like the flavor they add. I've done these with both Panko and Italian bread crumbs, and they're all good.

As Gigi said, I enjoyed watching. BUT, I am not a fan of Scotch Eggs. Mostly because I really don't enjoy sausage very much. I'll eat it, but … meh. In any case, it was very interesting watching you make these, and Pat was riveted. He likes them!
@Anonymoose9 жыл бұрын
***** Haha! My first thought was, since you're not a fan, Pat would love them. If you appreciate eggs and sausage, they're all win. Until your cardiologist finds out... LOL

What brand of mayo do you use? I personally like Dukes. I could not make out what brand yours is. Thanks for the video. I have never tired Scotch Eggs but I think I would like it after seeing it. I like sausage and eggs.
@Anonymoose9 жыл бұрын
lidsman2221 This was Blue Plate. I'll use both it and Duke's almost interchangeably. They're both excellent. If you like sausage and eggs, what could be better than wrapping one around the other? They're a real treat.

For some reason, I thought your last sauce had mustard in it. Maybe I'm thinking of a different recipe. It looks good, however you make it.
@Anonymoose9 жыл бұрын
Saint Rude I believe the last one did have mustard, Marc. We hadn't yet weaseled the sekrit sauce out of the chef, and I was winging it. Actually, as I experiment, I think a touch of a little Dijon and horseradish gives it a nice snap. Not much, just an undertone.
