After reading of the antics of Haaland and Co in the match against Spurs, I'm at a complete loss to know how much better women's football has to become for some people not to ridicule it. Why did those who denigrate it bother to watch it anyway? There are umpteen other channels to choose. Perhaps it's the fact that women's football lacks the histrionics of its male counterparts that fails to interest some people

During the match against Netherlands I heard Emma Hayes, who may, or may not, know as much, if not more, about women's football as Sarina Wiegman, applaud the skills and ability of the second half substitute, Alessia Russo. Today, in one report, I've read that Alessia Russo is one of the 'losers' following England's elimination. A goalkeeper who costs her team dearly on one occasion only is a 'winner'; a forward who works her socks off across the whole field of play is a 'loser' but no mention of another forward whose failure to put the ball into a gaping goal, which may have led to our qualification. Next Sunday's top of the league WSL match will reveal much.

Scotland fans at Hampden for the Nations League match against England.5 Dec 2023. Scotland had already been relegated , so nothing to play for. England needed to score a lot , so Scottish fans were looking at a probable heavy loss. Not a great attraction for them. And a freezing cold December evening in Glasgow. Not a great attraction for England fans with a 400 mile 7 hour drive. And they ' still ' got a record attendance. But none of this matters to you , does it? 3 sarcastic sentences. Just a thought. Scotland came back to late in the game, but Martha Thomas coming on late as a substitute gave them a new attitude in my view. But ❤ England Lionesses ❤ sadly missing out on the semi final was a shame too. But still a great match in my view One criticism towards the England shirt were was the flag of Scotland on our Lionesses shirts?
