After exploring Edinburgh, we rented a car and we were off to explore the Highlands of Scotland! On our first day out, while driving through the gorgeous Scottish countryside, we stopped at Doune Castle and Cawdor Castle.

I still remember how confused we were about where that place was. Watching this makes me miss Scotland all over again.

Rental companies can be so fun! Very cool castles. Small and narrow halls and stairs in the first. The 2nds one very charming and scenery great.

I know I love Scotland too. We are craving to go back. I haven't been to Doune Castle or Cawdor Castle yet, but that gives me more reasons to go back.

Monty Python! So cool you got to see filming locations, especially the French Taunter scene! I'm so jealous! Nice re-enactment btw.

Haha I've definitely had a moment like this where it was so hard to find the car rental! The drive looked amazing and some interesting facts about the castles. Was it easy driving around Scotland?

lol luckily, I didnt have to do any of the driving! my friend that I went with, had been before and driven, so she was the designated driver, and I was just along for the ride ;-) I totally know what you mean about outlander feels! the whole time we were walking through Doune castle, I kept recognizing parts from different scenes! We had originally planned to see midhope castle, but due to our car rental fiasco, we had to cut it from the itinerary. :-(
