Was that first place Dalbeattie? Kirroughtree is a good one and red squirrel are pretty much guaranteed to be seen at the bird hide there. I love the call of a Red Kite. There's a feeding place on the A44 called Bwlch Nant Yr Arian, but you probably already know! That one is free a part from parking charges. Great to visit on the way to see the starlings at Aberystwyth. There's one at Llandeussant too, probably spelled wrong, both in Wales. Beautiful photos again. They really are absolutely stunning birds and always a pleasure to see and here.

Hi Dan …. I thought you would be back in school by now 😂 Excellent photography and tips as usual but I must take issue with your complaint that it is “a bit of a slog to get up to Scotland”. Just have some sympathy for those of us that start our journey to the Highlands and Islands from south Essex! Tip …. RSPB Mersehead is superb in winter with the large flocks of Barnacle Geese as is nearby WWT Caerlaverock. Like you, I have visited Girgin Farm many times over the years (plus other Red Kite sites in mid-Wales) but Bellymack Hill Farm looks superb. It is now on the “to visit” list along with other locations inspired by your videos .... thank you 🙂 I am now off to watch part 2 ….
@danwillis_photography22 күн бұрын
Thanks Richard, you are absolutely right about the slog for people in the south of England to get to Scotland 🤦🏻♂️ Thanks for sharing your tips on RSPB Mersehead, I will definitely be revisiting this next time I’m up there which won’t be too long 🤞🏻

brilliant video,i visited the red kite centre last year when i first started photography.I found it so difficult to photograph them just because of the sheer numbers,and the fact my setup was too heavy for me and i didn't take my tripod or monopod. Awesome video as always Dan! Me and the wife are on the look out for a nice motorhome! What motorhome are you using in the video! I want to get something pretty decent that’s reliable and spacious so I can go off on long tours around the country and not having to worry about getting a hotel unless absolutely necessary! I want something spacious and good for me the wife and dog! I have a big bucket list of places I wanna go with the camera a lot of them are places that you have featured in your videos and I feel by having a motorhome we would be able to tick a good few of these places off the bucket list in which we would love to visit and hopefully get some stunning photography going on!
