I was thinking Murray that's a large pack for a single night bivvy with no cooking! - then I got thinking that as well as extra water, you're carrying all that filming equipment which we have to thank for bringing us the footage which, as usual, is just staggering. I'm starting to feel that you do this work not just for yourself, but on behalf of the rest of us too - your videos are truly remarkable for their presenter's humility, there's simply no ego in the mix. Great to see you restored to full fitness and enjoying the mountains' ability to bring new joy and adventure whatever else might be going on and however long we keep visiting them.

What a marvelous adventure! You would have laughed if you'd seen me; watching the head cam video of the first scramble. I was exclaiming, out loud, " whoa, WHOA!". My first sight of the Buachaille was from a bus headed down the A82. There was a heavy cloud at the summit and it looked for all the world like an active volcano. My daughter was napping, and I said, " wake up, you've got to see this." What an incredible, awe inspiring place.

I live in London... And mean to do this at christmas, before moving on to Ben Nevis and doing the CMD Arete. Then.venturing into the Cairngorns for the first time. Big pack and winter gear. You are so lucky living in Perthshire, i have got to Skye twice only in two years. Over night train to Fort William. You inspired me to go north two years ago, by watching your videos. Now I have brought kit for two years, climbed in the Sierra Nevada last january. But scotland is dramatically beautiful. And i'm forever worrking out train times, lengths of journeys and planning would be expeditions. Inspiring work. Well done.

My heart always beats a little bit faster when I see footage like this of Buachaille! This must have been an amazing experience!! Thanks for sharing. I noticed something else: KIngshouse Hotel asked for my opinion after I stayed at their bunkhouse in May and I told them that the lighting at night is too strong and not necessary. Now I see they haven't done anything about it :-) !

Hetty van der Klis it was certainly visible from the top of the mountain 🤔 maybe they aren’t allowed to turn the lights down perhaps ?? Thanks for watching Murray

Maybe, but they have 2 or 3 outdoor lamps that are almost as strong as floodlights and those are ease to spot both in your film and on one of the photos. I'll tell them again next time :-)!

Recently found your channel and loving it - thanks for helping inspire many adventures. I had my first bivvy experience recently on the summit of Beinn Fhada on Mull, followed by a spectacular day following the ridge to Ben More via A'Chioch. Don't think I've ever tasted porridge as good as the bowl I had for breakfast on the summit that morning!

Great stuff Murray - another unique wild camp. Been up Curved Ridge a couple of times and wondered about the slope off to the left at the top of the ridge scramble. Think I'll head to the summit that way next time. I made the mistake of heading up D Gully Buttress as well - a solo trip in the early morning mist. Had to down-climb a fair distance to get back on track - pretty dodgy stuff. How about next time you camp on the Rannoch Wall using a porta-ledge? You read it here first people ; )

Fantastic Murray. Was impressed at you lugging the big rucksack up the too. I still have plans to do curved ridge at some point and would love to make my first Munro on the Scottish mainland. I’ve done Pinnacle Ridge and the In Pinn, etc on Skye, both guided, but I do have some concerns about the scramble and with route finding on the ridge itself, as I’ll be doing it on my own. The 600 mile round trip also takes some planning with regard to the weather. Great vid, thanks for sharing. Love it 😎👍

Thanks David... Curved Ridge is an absolute belter of a day out, cant recommend it enough. If you go on a dry day at the weekend, I am sure you would be amongst quiet a few people heading up here.... However it can be a little troublesome finding it , first time and if the mist is down ! Thanks for watching ATB Murray

Great vlog Murray watching from Perth too but the one 12000 miles away ;) I really have an attachment to the Buachaille as I climbed Crowberry Gully years ago in the winter, so great to see this and thanks for taking me back on this magical mountain!

Fantastic video as usual! I am slowly workingmy way through your back catalogue :) One quick question: you mention soaking your clothes and Bivvy bag in permethrin. Would you mind sharing where you sourced a bulk supply or concentrate (to dilute) if you literally meant soaking them in a bowl of permethrin solution. I have seen videos of US hikers who do this and thought about doing the same but have not been able to find an economic supply of the chemical in the UK
