Skye IS the most beautiful island I've ever visited ...... i did a cycle tour a few years ago in February...... i got caught up the trotternish ridge in a very violent storm 80-90 mph winds ..... ended up camping in the forest just below the old Man ...... i still believe to this day i was lucky to leave the island alive ..... !! Love this video sir and i Love Skye ...... photos never truly do it justice but your photos come very close ..... Braw ❣️🤜🙏

Thank you Murray for sharing that adventure, the views and your image captures are spectacular!! I went to the Isle of Sky back in October 2018, the weather was not kind at all, in 4 days we didn't see the sun once. Drove up to the Neist Point light house. ( precarious road indeed! I didn't get any image I was hoping for due to the rain, wind ++ , so disappointed after traveling from Sydney Australia with great expectations. One day I will return before time run's out (Aged 66yo) Alway love your VLOGS. Cheers!

Another fine editors cut Murray. Winter conditions can transform a mountain environment from stunningly beautiful with the weather you had in the morning to a bit of nerves once the weather closes in as it did. Trust your hill skill and your compass but as the scouts say be prepared for the conditions the winter can throw at you. Planning a few days in Skye in May and looking forward to it. The Garbh Beinn to Blabhein ridge via Clach Glas is on the cards for this summer as well. Absolutely love the Cuillins and luckily they are reasonably close to hand.

This is one of your best Murray. In a strange way that desire to get to the summit in deteriorating conditions is similar to the experiences I used to have scuba diving in the Red Sea. On one occasion I was coming to the end of a dive where Hammerheads (deep sharks) are commonly spotted. We frustratingly had not seen any then we spotted them. I dived down to 30m to photograph them and realised that I only had just enough air to do my stops and safety at the end. Scared the hell out of me. Sometimes we just have resist that urge to get that golden shot. Brilliant footage. I have shared among my friends. Many thanks :-)

I’m reasonably familiar with Skye and your original video inspired me to head up this mountain on Christmas Day 2019. It was a daunting sight looking up there on my own with the summit shrouded in mist. I turned back about 100m from where you put your crampons on as I was a bit pushed for time. Would love to go back one day and gain the summit. Thanks for the re-edit Murray. I’m feeling pretty low at the moment but once again your videos continue to inspire 🙏🏻. ATB - Dave

It's good to see you back Murray. I was relieved to find out that you are safe and well. I know from your 'return' video you were wary about putting things out during lockdown, and I well appreciate those sensitivities. But for me, your videos are a real highlight. I admire your work greatly, mostly because you express, time after time, your love of the mountains and take us into this world. I long to head back up to Scotland. My last visit in October 2019 took me to Skye, walking and camping on the Trotternish Ridge, and this video spoke so loudly of the majesty of these mountains and the risks that can accompany them. Thank you again.

Great to see you back Murray, and this video is possibly my favourite so far, partly because I've been there in similar conditions and it brought back vivid memories, (mainly of sweating cursing and clanging!). My partner declined to come the last 100 metres, so I'll certainly be returning one day. Such a brilliant hill and you captured it brilliantly.
