Barking Roe deer 100%, you don't hear them bark often and I've only ever heard them bark in Scotland despite working and sleeping in woodlands with large Roe deer populations down here in Yorkshire for years. People are saying it's a fox but a fox bark is just slightly more shrill than a dog bark, quite different to what you are hearing. Great video as always mate 👍

I was up in the Mournes last year shooting the Milky Way over a reservoir in the pitch black with my head torch off about 3am when I felt a presence next to me. I switched the torch on and shit myself as a fox was standing right next to me, having snuck up like a bloody ninja. When I packed up and headed out I kept seeing its eye shine as it stalked me all the way down the track like I was its prey!! A wee bit unnerving too 😆

The noctilucence isn't actually clouds, they're ice crystals in the upper mesosphere. Can only be seen from late May until around September. This year hasn't been the best for them. I can see them in suburbia outside Glasgow with full light pollution. They are spectacular to see. If you can see North from your house, always look that way during the summer months after the sun has went down. Lovely shots of them.

Great vid Murray. Pink moon looked amazing 😍. I met a family of foxes "off-piste" one night on Ben Aigan. Luckily I had my mtb night light and briefly lit them up like daylight and confirmed it with two 5000 lumen twin lights! They weren't very happy as I must've ventured near their Den I think. This was in the high forest section and the sound was almost identical to this. When the nights are quiet the noise is quite piercing! I was clattering over half buried tree branches making an awful racket so they must've heard me coming from miles away 😂 Viva les pantalon jaunes! 🟨
@ScotlandsMountains2 жыл бұрын
I am pretty sure it was indeed a family of foxes given the size (they were too small to be deer - hence my initial thought of it being wild cats) - don't think they were too happy at my yellow trousers and tank top combo- reckon that's why they were barking !!;) Take care and thanks for watching Murray

Defo fox. You're in between two so they'll be calling to each other. It's that sound that gave inspiration to banshees in Ireland. Particularly my gran who would wake my grandad up in fear to go outside with the gun and spoke the banshees away during the night

Great vid as always. When I here that noise I assume herron but wild camping on the Norfolk Broads is probably slightly different to were you are. Prob a fox. I am wondering what units you use for wind you said it's forecast for 20 to 30 wind is that miles per hour?
