These TrainFX systems are known for having very poor audio quality, such as the Northern 170s

Fault lies with the speakers and other related onboard equipment, since the files are shared through the whole operator.

I use the HSTs often as I live in Scotland but the announcements are awful as you can hear, But that's caused by the poor speakers and equipment but it varies set to set really

the 153s and 156s also have terrible speakers. i recently went to oban on a 153+156 combo and the engines made the announcements seem quiet in both the 153 and 156
