There is a lot of confusion about who's buried where in these hills and hollers, Misinformation on find a grave website makes it even worse. We got a request from a friend to do this cemetery. She knows some of the people, and is a Hatfield descendant of George Goff Hatfield. We wanted to document who's really at this cemetery. We also found a hidden old cemetery behind it called the Old Hager or Dials branch cemetery, Not to be confused with the other Hager cemetery down the road.
Please keep our friend Georgia, who gave us this idea, in your prayers, for healing. It would be appreciated.

Oh wow😮 bless your heart Leo for being so brave! You climb mountains and brave the dogs and snakes and wild animals plus the thorny bushes😧. You have done it again, and found another historic long list cemetery and put it into the history books. Bless you Heather for all the hours and never ending hours of research you do for humanity to find their ancestors ✝️✝️✝️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹👍🏻

Leo, have you tried laying a small pinlight flashlight, against the side of the headstone, and shining it across the names on the headstone. It's works, very well, for reading some of these old headstones. By the way, I really enjoy your channel!

I am glad you mentioned this. I was going to say that i carry a superbright flashlight (they have some pretty small ones) And it's amazing how it works when you hold like you mentioned. I think i learned it from a KZbin video. You hold it at the corner and shine it across the face of the stone from the side and it makes the letters jump right out.

This reminds me of a cemetery back in Ohio I lived in the early 80s, it was up on a hill! Chaffins I think was the name! But no one ever visited & it was so overgrown. That’s crazy how you brought those memories back! Great video! 🫶🏻❤️🫶🏻

Great vlog. Thank you both for bringing these forgotten cemeteries to us. I wish the people who lived there to just clear the land. These people who were buried there should be given respect, by even clearing the area. I know if I lived there, I would have done this many years ago!

That second sight was you think there'd still be remnants of a wagon trail or some sort of road still. I'm sure they didn't just track through the woods with a casket. They had to bring the stones up with oxen I would imagine. They didn't carry those stones up that hill. Great work as usual.

Highly interesting. My stepmother was born & raised in KY. Married my Dad, traveled around the US, as he was in the military. She died in Fayetteville, NC, but wanted to be buried in KY. Not far from Somerset, KY. Oct of 1969. I was very young though i do remember this: After the funeral, the hearse could only drive so far to the hillside graveyard. It took 6 people to get her casket up on top of that hill & we walked for some time. I would dearly love to know the location of that graveyard! Her name was Thelma May (Mae?) Hall Peoples. Any information would be appreciated!

Leo you talk like that female dog will add you to the graveyard. I think the dog left for the ketchup bottle. Leo you’ve got to take a brush with you to see if some soil can be removed from the grave stone. How can the grave spots be dug as my hills are shallow with top soil and Stoney a foot down as you go deep. I’d need dynamite to dig in my hills unless certain slopes to a direction(south?) are black dirt?
