I've wanted to arrange a rag for string band for awhile. This felt like a natural choice. Though not considered the first ragtime piece, it was the "King of Ragtime", Scott Joplin's first published work. It also has five themes, more than most of his later rags that usually had four. So it feels like a Rag Medley, or Ragtime Starter Pack or something.
Special thanks to Andrew Hulle for loaning me his double bass for this video. It belonged to his grandfather who was a great bassist. I only had the instrument for a week or so before recording, so pardon my technique. I may or may not have had to tune a few notes in post. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
