Scott Ross est né en mil neuf cent cinquante et un
à Pittsburgh, Etats-Unis d'Amérique,
où il fit ses premières études musicales.
A l'âge de quatorze ans, il se fixa en France,
où il eut successivement .comme professeurs
Huguette Grémy-Chauliac, Robert Veyron-Lacroix
et Kenneth Gilbert.
Au concours international de Bruges
mil neuf cent soixante et onze,
Scott Ross a remporté le premier prix.
Il est à ce jour la seule personne
à avoir obtenu cette distinction.
Depuis, il se consacre
à une briilante carrière de soliste,
joignant à ses vastes connaissances
musicologiques, une profonde compréhension
et une grande sensibilité.

Scott Ross delivers a sublime performance of the master when I would have been seven years old and blissfully unaware of how Bach would later dominate my musical listening. Ross eloquently disproves the old chestnut of the harpsichord as merely skeletons manically dancing on a tin roof... his octagonal glasses are rather typical of the period and also to be applauded.

Conductor Sir Thomas Beecham statement was even worse with his unfavourable characterization "skeletons copulating on a tin roof". It sounds horrible, such a statement in my ears, but still you have to admit that the English have a great sense of humour.
