Great to see The Pirate back on the channel, he should smash a 3 hour marathon. Also great to see yet more competition in the carbon plate game. Not tried the Scotts, but if nothing else, they look (and apparently smell) good. Good to see my favourites, the Puma Deviate Nitro Elite, getting bronze in the women's Olympic marathon on the feet of the great Molly Seidel, in only her 3rd ever marathon 🤯

He's always good value Stuart! 😂 More content featuring Steve on the channel soon. The Carbon plate market is so competitive now, so many shoes to choose from! Glad you're still enjoying your Pumas, I'm loving the Rebel V2's at the moment. Thanks for watching and supporting as always its really appreciated 🙏

@@Run4Adventure short Update after 30k. I have done 17k longrun (6:30 pace) and some temporun (up to 4:30) in them. They feel great, like them! Smooth transition, lots of cushion but denser/rebounding. Good midfoot lockdown, very stabil offset. Only low ankles could get Problem with the high heel collar. Outsole could wear out more quickly.

@@martinnoyer1774 that's great, I've just got a pair of the pursuit and speed carbon at silly prices. Not had a chance to really try them out but see them as a hoka equivalent (Clifton and Rocket X). I'm hoping the rocker will help with pushing out the extra miles on the longer runs as I build up the miles.

Good review. Did you get the chance to try the New Balance RC V2?
@Run4Adventure3 жыл бұрын
No I haven't run in the NB RC 2's yet. To many shoes and not enough time! With so many new shoe constantly coming out it's hard to keep up with them all and it ends up costing a small fortune 😊 Thanks for watching the channel it's appreciated 🙏

I feel like the weight is going to hold it back from really being competitive against the vaporflys etc. My vaporflys in uk size 11 are 218g. Definitely something that'll get noticed later on during the runs
@Run4Adventure3 жыл бұрын
I kind of agree Joseph. To be fair to the shoe it doesn't run heavy but I could feel the difference when I went back to my Vaporflys 🤔 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
@adamglueckski80643 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t say it’s a vaporfly competitor, too heavy and not enough rebound, however, lovely stability and feels much better at a variety of paces due to the variable flex of the carbitex DFX plate

I bought them for € 60 for triathlon sprint and Olympic .. do you think they are bad shoes? Weight 65kg 177cm

For a carbon plated performance shoe, they were pretty bad! Way to heavy, slippage in the heel and lacking cushioning 😕

Thanks, glad you enjoyed the review. Obviously you'd want to go for a road running shoe 👍 The best advice I can give is if you can go to a running specialists store and try a lot of shoes on. Running shoes are so personal, every shoe sizes up differently and everyone's footshape is different. Trying lots of different brands and models on gives you a much better idea of what will work for you 👍 Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel 🙏

Hi Loyd. Way back this but I’ve got the opportunity today (2024) to gat my hands on a pair of these for £20 new. Would you say it’s worth it as a training carbon shoe? I usually run in the saucony speeds and pro carbon range and wonder if there’s much difference in the fit not necessarily the performance? Thanks
@Run4Adventure5 ай бұрын
To be honest Tony, they’re not great! I personally wouldn’t even pay £20 for them, it’s way to heavy and to firm 😕

After this first impressions review, any update? Today has a black friday promo and you can buy for £50 do you think it is a good option? Thanks
@Run4Adventure11 ай бұрын
I personally think there's much better carbon plated road shoes out there. The Scott shoe is way to heavy and I had issues with heal slippage. The fact they're selling a £210 pair of shoes for £50 kind of says everything 🤔 Hope this helps and thanks for watching 🙏
@yellowfolder11 ай бұрын
@@Run4Adventure @r.cordis8251 I made the mistake of going for the deal. Terrible shoe and I had to work much, much harder on a threshold run than I would even in my endorphin speeds. Nothing Super about this shoe.
@BillyBobJoeSnr11 ай бұрын
@@yellowfolderI've bought a pair and some Rocket X both seem great so far. I think of them designed for the intermediate runner that is fast than most but nowhere near elite level. Last weekend I did a 24:30 5k in the rockets which is faster than rincon 3s that are super easy to run in. The Scott's I feel are more of an economic long run shoe that will benefit the above average runner more than a great one. And for £50 if you get a year of training runs out of them still feels like a good deal.
@yellowfolder11 ай бұрын
@@BillyBobJoeSnr I tried them for a second run and they were *okay* - I think I was just expecting more as they were supposed to be a super-shoe, but they don't come close to vaporflies for example, and they really are heavy and stiff. But I agree, you can't complain at 50 quid and they'll do as a training shoe... just not speed work.
@BillyBobJoeSnr11 ай бұрын
@@yellowfolder I'm planning on using them for long long runs, 20km+ and maybe try them on the odd short course (park run). I think the rocker is for tired legs that need to keep pushing through the extra miles.

I wouldn’t recommend the Scott shoes, it’s really not that great as a performance shoe! I haven’t run in the Deviate Nitro 2 so I can’t comment on that. Maybe take a look at the Nike Vapourfly Next % 2, you can pick them up cheap in the sales now and it a great shoe. Or maybe the Saucony Endorphin 2 if you can find a pair in the sales 👍

hm, doesnt look that heavy...does it actually feel heavier than those other super shoes when running? Im sure Scott can find new customers with this one though, not everyone likes a squishy shoe + that price :)
@Run4Adventure3 жыл бұрын
At 266g it's not really a heavy shoe so it runs ok and you don't notice the weight Jana. But when I put my Vaporflys back on afterwards I really noticed the weight difference 🤔 Obviously running shoes are so personal and for me the weight of my road racers is important and I like to keep them as light as possible. I think for the £170 price point it gives runner a slightly more affordable carbon racer option (obviously £170 is still a lot of money!) 😳 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏

@@Run4Adventure yeah I agree. I took out the insole to get a bit further down in the shoes. I will experiment with this and locking the shoes down with the tie lock technique. I felt that helped just trying it out. But I’ll wait till my heels are healed again before I go for another run
