Nice video Scott. Some photographers recommend darkening some of the bottom of the frame to avoid a “distraction” and guide the viewer towards the center where the main area of the photo is usually found. I wonder what you think of that in reference to this particular shot. I also wonder if you will end your post processing with a vignette. Thank you!

Hi Jorge... I fully agree with guiding the eye with burning or a vignette. Although not necessarily to the center of the photo. Guide toward the subject. In my case, I’ll vignette but bias toward the interesting ocean and rocks.

I thought the adjustments were each subtle ones but the combined effect was really nice. I liked the image a lot when finished. Did you have the processing in mind when you were on location or just take the photo and figure it out later? Lately, I find myself thinking more about how I will process while in the location and wonder if others do as well.

A bit of both, Philip. For some scenes, I know exactly what I’ll do in post to tonight things off. For this scene, I didn’t know exactly how I’d treat it when I captured it, but I did know I’d be able to even out the lighting. So I worried less about the exposure in the field.

Hi Scott, great and inspiring episode, when you move to the other mentioned editor, what format tiff, jpg raw will be used.. 🇩🇰
@ScottDavenport5 жыл бұрын
Hi Ole... I usually use TIFF when going to an LR plug-in. Sometimes PSD. You have control over that in the plugin options in LR. You can also set the default behavior for each plugin in the External Editors section of LR preferences.
