Scott, when I first started lifting I was listening to the biggest fake natty scumbags out there and thinking I would get to where they were if I did what they did in the gym. After almost a year of following their programs, I saw little gains and was rly dissapointed. However, I found your channel and realized that you actually understand a lot about training and the human body, so I started watching more and more of your videos, and I eventually bought your push pull legs program, which got me results like never before. I believe that your channel is the best out there and that your content is even better than Jeff Cavaliere’s. You should be very proud of the fact that you help millions of people like me reach their goals. 👊

Hey Scott, I’ve had insomnia for my first lifting year, but now I am beginning starting strength 3x5 with Pendlay rows in place of power cleans. I am ready to go all out on this program. Once I finish and my lifts are much higher, and or Ive stalled, what intermediate program can I run? Right now this is what I’ve got for after starting strength. Day 1 Upper: Bench press 5x5 (Incline bench Day 3) Pendlay row 5x5 (Weighted pullups Day 3) OHP 3x5 Barbell curl 3x10 (Skull-crusher Day 3) Face pull 3x12 (Side raise Day 3) Day 2 Lower: Squat 5x5 Deadlift 1x5 RDL 3x8 Calf raise 3x12 Cable crunch 3x10 Shrug 2x10 Is this ok, or should I wait for your legendary upper lower or something along those lines. Thanks coach.

Straight up, I'm exhausted from watching this. I really respect Scott for doing this video though. You really see his blood, sweat, and tears here. The agony and struggles of this extreme endurance exercise. It's crazy cause it's like it's only 25 lbs dumbells, but it's the non-stop aspect of this that just wears you out and makes those 25 lbs dumbells heavy af. I'm gonna try it out soon, and there's no doubt in my mind I'm going to fail to complete it, but I can only get better after each attempt. This will really test my endurance, stamina, and core. I'll probably end up doing 30 sec intervals instead of 15 sec, gonna need that extra 15 secs lol. My respect to Scott for posting this though, not many flex heads on Insta or YT would show their agony of doing their workouts. Loved it!

Hey Scott, this is unrelated to to the video but I have a question. Does bulking and cutting mess up your hormones? How often should I cut and bulk?
@sharonl.peterson15895 жыл бұрын
The Red Hood it can change your metabolism depending on how you cut/bulk. It depends on your physique. If you’re fat then try to build muscle underneath and eat few calories. If you’re skinny then bulk

@@sharonl.peterson1589 Is there a limit to how many times you can cut and bulk? What if I bulk for 6 months, then cut for 2 months and then bulk again? Is that unhealthy?
@sharonl.peterson15895 жыл бұрын
The Red Hood it depends to what degree and what your physique is like. A healthy bulk where you increase the calories and protein and eat healthy food is fine and cutting where do gradually reduce the calories is fine. However, if you need a ways to go to get your ideal muscle mass and you’re cutting for 1/4, it might stop your progress. Many bodybuilders bulk up during the off season and cut right before competition, but they get so lean it’s hard to maintain. For me, I’m naturally pretty lean, so I’m trying to a lean bulk where I do explosive cardio, so my muscles gets stronger and I don’t lose muscle mass from doing long and slow cardio.

I don’t think those rows will get you a thick back. To get good back thickness I had to work my way up to 275 bent over row.
@jacobsobelman39235 жыл бұрын
Daniel These follow-along workouts are meant to maintain muscle and burn fat when you don’t have all the time in the world to go to the gym, or if you don’t have access to all the ideal gym equipment. Of course a 275lbs bent over row will build back thickness, but these follow along workouts aren’t designed to exactly mimic that. They are meant to help those who may not have time or access to a proper gym the ability to complete a great and effective workout
@ScottHermanFitness5 жыл бұрын
Jacob is right. These workouts aren't about overloading, they're about maximizing little time in the gym and achieving metabolic stress. You can still grow with something like this, but of course a heavy barbell bent-over row is ideal for back. But if you only have 10 - 15 minutes and want a full upper body workout (not just back), this is a fantastic option!

I like how you don't offer an easier alternative, save for knees on the ground or feet on the ground. Lot's of people give an easier way to do things, but that just delays the gains. One day you will do 8 reps, then the next week you will do 10, and a month after that 15.

I mean, I offer alternatives sometimes, but you just got to push it!!!

I don't think the pushups on db's will help your core strength really. Maybe if you're a beginner it could. It might help with endurance though
