Wow. I haven't seen this in ages, but it's one of the best climbing videos I've ever seen. You're so great at capturing the joyful spirit of climbing and the camaraderie of it all. I wish more climbing media was like this. I find this spirit lacking in these days of climbing's move to the mainstream.

I saw this video for the first time when I just started climbing about 4 years ago. I've revisited it SO many times, you wouldn't believe it! Every time I was in pure awe of the climbing pictured here! I just couldn't imagine ever doing this stuff... Made my first visit to Scotland this season and man, this video is THE best representation of Scottish Winter that exists! It's like capturing Nessy on camera, haha! That hook at 7:50 just says it all for me, not seeing it, but giving it a good thug and then relying on it all the way! Would have been nice to see all the names of the routes climbed! In Glen Coe we did Central Grooves (VII,7) and The Chimney Route (VI,6) both amazing and not far from Unicorn in the video, which just stands out on the walk-in! On Ben Nevis we did among others Gemini (VI,6) and Minus One (VI,6), both amazing as well! Went for one week and ended up staying for 2 full weeks! Full on winter though, never needed to visit the sea, a bouldering gym or a distillery ^^ Thanks for sharing already so many years ago!

Thanks Thomas, this is seriously one of the BEST comment I've never had!! Very much appreciated! I don't really know the name of the all the routes the guys have done, but you should contact Erwan LeLann or Mathieu Maynadier for more info. And you can also watch my new film "Pathan Project" on my KZbin channel, it's online for free for 2 weeks only!! Best regards and stay safe!!

@@GuillaumeBroust Hey Guillaume, seriously, it is a video that keeps inspiring me as a climber. A gift that keeps on giving! My own Scottish trip, gives it a new dimension, because now I understand what it really means! (Been ice climbing for quite some time though. Had a great season in the Alps too this year, many WI5+'s and finally my first WI6!) Few videos capture the "fun" of climbing more than these "Petzl Ice Trips" (both this one and the Canadian one). They should do that again! Also, seeing Ueli Steck so open and free, having fun, slightly stepping away from his "Swiss Machine" image (but not too much) is a joy watching. My biggest idol from day one and still shocked by his death... Obviously, I already saw the Pathan Project and shared with friends! Very well done, enjoyed the docu-filming style with that great "fun" touch again. The focus is on WHY you're climbing, rather than purely the climb! You're a champ for making this public during the lockdown!

I miss him more and more as the years go by. Maybe I could become the "American Machine" someday. Until the mountains bring us home, Ueli.

Hard core! (Climbing bolted routes is indoor wall climbing 😉)
