Come and experience Scotland anytime. Beautiful scenery, good fresh air, welcoming and friendly people, weather a wee bit unreliable most days.😅 I'm Scottish and live in Scotland, probably a wee bit biased.
@AngusMacKinnon-xm5ko Жыл бұрын
You are no biased at all laddie. As a Scot; I am extremely proud of my country, our banished Royal Family, and our prowess. Though as a young lad of 15, my father emigrated to Australia, much against the protestation of my mother and I, it broke my heart the day the ship pulled away from the dock at Tilbury. From then on (1961) I yearned to return to back to Scotland, but in order to honour the wishes of my father and my mother's father (Grandpa) I remained in Australia much against my wishes. I married 51 years ago to a Scottish girl who was never keen to return. However; she honoured my wishes to go back to my beloved Highlands and told me to go back for Three weeks. Twelve months later, I came back to Australia and to World War III. Two years later, when I asked the wife if it were OK if I went back to Scotland, she said OK but asked the question: "How long are you going back for" I said: "THREE WEEKS" My wife responded: I Seem to have heard that before"! However; three weeks it was that I was back for. There were tears in my eyne when I left home again; never to return. Regardless of how often I pleaded with my wife to return back home, I got a negative answer. There is an old saying: "YOU CAN TAKE THE LAD OUT OF SCOTLAND, BUT YOU WILL NEVER TAKE SCOTLAND OUT OF THE LAD!! ALBA GU BRAGH!!!!!

Wow! I feel like I was MEANT to see this video. About 11 years ago I went on a tour at that cemetary. As soon as I entered the gates, I was so overwhelmed with the spirits of what felt like God or angles that I sat down. I told the tour guide that this felt like holy ground and I felt like I couldn't stand up. He asked me if the presence was coming from a certain area of the cemetary. I pointed towards an area that was maybe 30 feet away and he said, "that is where the Martyrs are buried." I have photos of it still and just looked at them. I still felt the same feeling... and I stopped looking at my photos. It wasn't a bad feeling, but it was HEAVY. LIKE SADNESS and holiness all mixed together. I've never felt anything else like it

I spent the better part of a month in Scotland visiting our Family's Castle, the Scottish countryside, large towns and small quaint villages. I am a direct descendant of Gordon Highlanders. When I (we) arrived in Scotland and began touring/exploring, I had an overwhelming feeling that I was finally home; I felt as though I truly belonged there. I identified with the wonderful people and beautiful country; I felt very much at home. It was a spiritual & emotional experience, particularly when we visited our once Family Castle (I am a descendant of Gordon Highlanders & our castle is Huntly Castle); my mother & her sister inherited the castle shortly after The Depression here in America. As they didn't have the money to travel to Scotland to assume possession of the castle, my mom & her sister signed the it over to the Scottish Government. They did a wonderful job restoring it, though some of it is in ruins. My sister, myself, husbands & my 86 year old mother visited the castle (we explored every inch!). There were a lot of tears, joy and spiritual feelings of belonging there. It WAS an amazing day, a moving experience. We met our cousins over there, and they joined in on the Huntly Castle excursion. It was an Amazing day (and me Mum got to see her castle 😊). I've seen other comments here on how people were spiritually moved, felt an overwhelming belonging when they visited Scotland - I totally get that. I too felt like I was at/in a place where I'd been before, especially when I visited small villages where my distant relatives were born and lived. I truly appreciate this video: the folklore and true stories were of great interest. Though I've read & heard it before, it was a great refresher of some of Scotland's history. If you ever have an opportunity to see Scotland, GO! The people ARE wonderful, and the country IS beautiful. I fell madly in love with Scotland. ❤

When I was a little girl, 6 or 7 years old, I often heard the drums and bagpipes played by the high school band very close to my home in America. I would stop whatever I was doing and listen, mesmerized and then begin to weep silently. A decade and a half later, our family visited my aunt, and I was invited into her "Scottish Room". There, on every surface and every wall were maps, documents and photos, during which, she shared stories of our Scottish ancestors. I am truly a lucky woman. My aunt spent 50 years her life, as a genealogist, member of DAR- Daughters of the American Revolution, and Peace Corp volunteer, compiling, visiting world places, and sourcing proof documents, discovering and preserving, our family history. Up until that point, I knew nothing of our family lineage and suddenly it all made sense; my inexplicable, sentimental tears for the music of an ancient homeland I have never been to; for the soil I have yet to touch. I feel certain now, that not just the mind, but the body, remembers its roots, across generations and the centuries before. I have often argued this position, by asking: "Does not an Oak tree know where and when it will grow?", "Does not the tide return each day of the year, and at near precisely the same day and time as the year before?" My entire body tingles when the pipes and bouhdrans play, and the tears still flow. I am coming Scotland. Alba go bragh

Scotland, my home, is beautiful, and visitors who respect her are very, very welcome. Sadly, we are inundated now with the kind of visitor nobody wants..... tourists who drop litter, campervanners who leave their rubbish just anywhere and empty their chemical toilets in burns, at the roadside, in private gardens, drivers who break speed limits, drive like maniacs and drink and drive, visitors who tear up rare wild flowers, and damage monuments and geological features.......... we have this kind of visitor in spades. After James II, those in line for the throne were James' daughters Mary and Anne, and after them William of Orange. Mary who was the wife of William of Orange was offered the crown, but William and Mary became joint monarchs. It has been suggested (strongly) they became joint rulers due to William throwing a fit at the thought of his wife being his superior. It would appear that Mary II being a joint ruler and the daughter of James did not make up for her husband not being a Scot.

Enjoyed this! Biological father was a Scot. Fellin love with the bag pipes first time I heard them at 5. Always wanted to see especially the highlands of Scotland. Doesnt look like it will happen tho. Will have to go see it in spirit form, I guess. One thing I really regret. Not getting there in human form.

I’ve been to the Covenanters prison. It’s a very sad place. It’s very quiet when you go there even though the city is right outside the cemetery wall. I felt this off feeling while I was there. Like a was being watched.

Hi Neil, I love watching your videos here, and fascinated by your conclusions or thoughts in relation to wildfires and also concerning I ran Khan, I was a huge fan in his cricketing career and follow his journey into politics with interest, I read his books, learned about his struggle to get healthcare for his mother with cancer and setting up a hospital and education centres and I have also been curious about his demise. What a sad world this is becoming. Stay strong please and keep up the very very valuable work you are doing here.

What an enchanted tale and beautiful history lesson! I wish I was Scottish, but alas, Germany is in my bloodline. But my heart is not. However, my high school (in USA) were the Highlanders and we had pipers and dancers, so maybe that's a part of it... ❤🏴🇺🇸🙌⛓️💥

Stewart did get back on the royal throne.. William is part Stewart as princess Diana was a direct descendant of the Stewart, that's why she was sought out to marry Charles, to lend legitimacy to the british/German royal family who's popularity was in decline.
@ruthblack367611 ай бұрын
That was the GENIUS of their match! A shame it was that their events turned in the fashion they did. But...William unites the blood of both houses. The Queen was sharp in her efforts to unite the Country in every which way she could. There is something quite right about that despite the obvious heartaches.

I was dreaming that I was climbing a hill out front of a cemetery and looked over in the distance to a hill with a scottish castle and I thought that must be where Im to go then a hand came out in front of my face and a man stood there wanting to help me the rest of the way up the hill but he led me away from my castle into a Gold truck. A few months after the dream I met a man who drove a gold truck.

I’m starting to take a look at what I should see when in Scotland. Had my dna done and I’m 53% Scottish! I had no idea. I knew I had some English and a Danish great grandfather but was completely surprised. My dad had some too but my mom was of people who came to Canada back in the 1700s. When I step onto the ground in a month or so, I am likely the blood of generations stepping back to their home for the first time since they left. Also going to Dublin and have a ‘wee’ bit of Irish as well.

13:21 there has been an expedition into the cave recently and they did find human bones inside a man made trench that could have attached to the castle above. I have not seen any update about those bones. One vertebrae was small like a child’s. There were animal bones as well.

As a MacLeod who has looked into this.. There were very small people much like we have today(Jyoti Amge - search images) who found strength in numbers to survive as a group but they were literally being hunted by animals(wolves) and nobody would help them, until they stumbled across the Isle of Skye where they were helped by the Clan MacLeod, where we protected them and left them to live in Peace on the Island isolated from the beasts of the bushes from passing @ Dunvegan Castle.. The Flag was a gift, a gesture; and is most likely a coincidence that the two wishes requested ended up coming true... There remains 1 wish imbued ... I wish MacLeods unified on the March to London bringing the Grandchild of Mary to the Throne.. The world would indeed be a MUCH different place today!!! Mainlanders have interfered too much on this Island... I support Brexit!! European Union = Soviet Union!! -Not many know about Scota, an Egyptian Princess buried in Ireland.. Daughter of Akhenaten & Nefertiti, Married to Tutankhamen.. Likely the name place of Scotland.. -Atlantis also lays just off the submerged Continental Ridge before the English Channel filled in submerging Rockall Plateau.. All you have to do is look at Criteria by Critias & Timaeus.. 555km x 370km.., "in northern portions along the shore".. "Mountain low on all sides, broke it off all round about(Northeast corner) There is a reason the Earth Calendar(Stone Henge) returned closer to its place of Origin first built by Chronos from City of Atlantis.. 23.5km wide... south end of Rockall Plateau.. 8000 yr old boatyard in English Channel before the Mediterranean flooded, forcing the Cro-Magnon [Incested Caen-Abel(s)] out of their homeland... into Jericho... Palestine... There is much to learn about Scotland & our Ancient Ancestors the Neanderthal.. Neo-Lithic... Advancement still flows from the Shores of the Atlantic... Hand Axes in Scotland to Bronze & Iron ages, to Radar, Computers & Tunnel Rail Guns sending Cargo into orbit to the orbiting construction & launch platform in a "more thought out" manner.. Using Hydro power instead of burning Sugar & Methane on Rockets... With Hydro Power + Rail Tunnels we could be sending up cargo every 45 minutes into orbit drastically speeding up construction..

i Love Scotland although i haven't visited since childhood. without doubt it's the most beautiful part of our island. lived there for a short time growing up, we spent the second half of my first year of secondary school in Dumfries in the lowlands. having just done 'bonnie prince Charlie' start to finish in Manchester i was seriously keen, still being a fan of historical record back then, when we were told we'd be studying it start to finish there. i quickly realised why they had been saving until after the summer holidays. a hero down south, or so it's taught, what a rotter he in fact was i was stunned to learn the details left out of my schooling in Manchester. that was how i learned, in eighty three, that history is at best propaganda...
