I spent time in Glasgow. As Walter said, I could barely understand what many were saying. I'm sure in more time my ear would have become accustomed to the accent, brogue and dialect. However, a charming city. I did notice that at the hotels, and some places, the people spoke slower and a little clearer for our benefit. We Yanks thank you. But I much enjoyed getting away from the downtown area and large hotels and mingling with the folks. And, actually, I was almost getting used to beans on the breakfast buffet.
