Bonny fish, nicely done. | have fished The Annan higher upstream two separate weeks without success. I once fished The Lune in August and it was bloody freezing. Another guy was fishing the same beat and he says to me " Wish I had a pair of neoprene waders on like you". I replied "Yeah, that'd be good, but not this pair, they've got a bloody hole in 'em!".

@@japanesefishingadventures Top tip from the Victorians (before waders). "When wading check your legs frequently. If they are blue or black stop fishing immediately. If they are merely rubicund you may continue to enjoy the waters".

Just let the devon swing round with the current right into the side then reel it in. a small weight to keep it down if need be.

Haha, I wondered if anyone would notice this!! Reason I call them a Devonshire minnow? Before I caught my first salmon as a child (!!) I decided I wanted to use a Devon Minnow and at that very moment we were in the Devonshire Pub (chain of them around Yorkshire) - you can probably see where it ended up can’t you 😂😂

@@Adam_Outdoors sadly the stocks are so bad in the UK that every fish is precious! Some of the rivers in Scotland still have a decent run, but it’s mainly catch and release for Salmon over here 😀

Suggest you set the clutch BEFORE you start fishing then do NOT adjust during the fight as you were lucky not to lose it.

Admittedly the braid is 40ib as it’s my Pike reel and I only had 25ib fluro 😂 but to caveat that, it means if you get snagged you can pull through a lot of stuff etc! But I do recommend you chill out abit mate million ways to skin a cat 😂

@@japanesefishingadventures a agree mafriend a use MA pike rods n reels all the time for salmon as I stay in glasgow and every river tht is nxt to me have salmon in them and the forth and Clyde canal is one off the most notorious Canals for monster pike , so yeh m8 chill out a bit lol way your snide comments tht was a cracking vid and you haven't ovi caught a scottish salmon you need to fish heavy lines etc so pike rids etc r perfect so stop getting ur nikkers in a twist ,, tight lines always 🎣 🐠 🏴💯🏴🏴
