I did the trip in 1990 whilst on a working holiday year in Edinburgh and on a long weekend - did Skye too at end - all in a G reg Fiesta LX 1.1 hire car - best trip of my life

I have just done it last week in my Impreza mk3 and it was just amazing, we camped and we stayed in bnbs, it was an amazing experience, driving the Bealach Na Bà Pass near Applecross left me speechless. The NC500 is definitely gorgeous!

I was planning a nc500 before the end of summer and my question is where would you stay if you took a car? I'm planning on a more driver experience trip and not as long taking my TT

You could probably do it in 1 or 2 days if it was just about the driving. There is a TON of nice Air BnB's and hotels so really just whatever takes your fancy! Make sure you book though.
