Though the All-Seeing Eye is often associated with Freemasonry, it's important to remember that this symbol is way older than modern Masonry itself. The Masons adopted it into their iconography in the late 1700's, but the Eye has been around for centuries, symbolizing divine omniscience in various cultures long before Freemasonry made it part of their symbols. S Before the Masons included the All-Seeing Eye in their symbolism, it was already a potent symbol in various ancient cultures. For instance, in Ancient Egypt, the Eye of Horus represented protection, health, and restoration. Over in Christianity, the Eye of Providence was used to symbolize God's omnipresence, watching over humanity. And, let's not forget its appearance on the Great Seal of the United States, symbolizing divine guidance in the founding of the country, which predates its Masonic associations. So, while Freemasonry might be the first thing that comes to mind today, the All-Seeing Eye's history is rich and diverse, cutting across different epochs and civilizations.

My initiation to become an EA is this upcoming Tuesday, April 16th, 2024 at the Lantana Lodge #372 F&AM in South Florida. I'm humbled to soon become a part of something that has also become very special to my heart.

Bro. Maynard without going into detail...pyramids are not strictly masonic symbols however they are found in Masonry, but not with the eye.
@ScottishRiteMasons7 ай бұрын
They are found within shrine masonry, and there is passing mentioned within Scottish rite in terms of certain degrees. But they are not a part of any regular blue Lodge and don’t have an official meaning as pyramids. They are not symbols of masonry in the same way that say the square & compasses or the beehive or the gavell are. I understand and don’t disagree necessarily with the point you’re making, but historically speaking just like the all CI, while masonry may borrow those symbols at this point, they are not original to freemasonry in anyway.

Why do masons gravestones tend to be pyramids or obelisks.old headstones, 100s of years old ,Here in central Scotland anyway ?
@ScottishRiteMasons6 ай бұрын
it’s likely just local tradition. We don’t use them here in the states.
@bigfishguy3077 ай бұрын
Brother, i love the explanations; but shouldn't we live and let live. Who cares what anyone thinks about the symbols, we have our own interpretations and can discuss them with duly and truly prepared brothers. This page is great, but freemasonry's PR should be thru acts.
@ScottishRiteMasons7 ай бұрын
In principle I agree with you. But there is so much ignorance abounding that we are seeing acts of violence against Masons simply because people fear what they don’t understand. So, to some extent we need to combat that ignorance with simple facts. And there is value to many brothers too, who don’t realize some of the history of the fraternity and perhaps don’t have time to sit and study books and ritual texts. ~M

Isnt it of their own free will and accord to study? Only suggesting that it is not necessary to inform, or explain anything about the fraternity. If they want to know more they could go to the local blue lodge. ~MM32mrs

No need to combat the ignorant, maybe inform them where they can seek light themselves? ~MM32

@@bigfishguy307 The problem with that, is that they are hugely influenced by those who claim to know the truth, but do not. So if they "want to know more", they rarely ask us...they ask those who would speak unkindly of us. Sadly, they would rather believe the "juicy" stuff, rather than the real stuff.

My problem is ignorant people HAVE gone to lodges- and killed masons. So, we can’t just stay silent.

You paused comments of the bible video because you know we're right and you're wrong reading something demonic. Unless there's another reason you disabled them. Care to explain?
@ScottishRiteMasons7 ай бұрын
The reason is so-called Christians were making threats of violence repeatedly. And after you anti-masons shot an innocent mason last summer we decided to pause comments. That is the reason

@ScottishRiteMasons6 ай бұрын
No. It's not. A 10 second google search will show that Masons have been killed, and lodges bombed within the last few months, simply because they are Masons. And I see you are OK with violence against people with whom you disagree. That is despicable and you are part of the problem. Have a nice day. Conversation over.

@@ScottishRiteMasons Conversation over after you make baseless assumptions? That's very strange brother. Shows your mindset
@ScottishRiteMasons6 ай бұрын
My assumption is based on your previous statements, and saying that our concern for people being harmed was a weak excuse. I certainly don't have a problem in engaging. You have a problem with truth and fact. YOU made a baseless accusation that I am reading something other than the Bible. I responded. The end. Move along. Have a nice day.
