A friend of mines lost three children ages 17 11 and 2 plus her 19 yr old nephew when the 17 yr old tried to beat a Amtrak. The vibrations caused the car to stall directly on the track. The impact crushed the car like a soda can. As they were working to remove the bodies the mom showed up at the crash site. Once confirmed that three body's were in the vehicle she kept telling them that her 2 yr old was in the car when it was hit. After searching they did locate the 2 yr old body. She was face down in a ditch some hundred yards away from the impact.

Sad for the family who he left behind, but he got what he asked for. Crossing was fully protected with red lights and gates. Crossing protected with red lights and gates is where the majority of these grade crossing accidents happen. Impatience, negligence and recklessness often times is a sure killer at railroad crossings at grade.
