This one week later. Yes definitely greened up and did kill some weeds but not all.

I cut the grass 2 days prior, wet the grass and applied it. It does not say to water in after the application, just says to make sure no rain/no water for 24 hours. I did lightly water the lawn after 4 days because there's no rain at all within 2 weeks. 10 days later, I don't see any changes on the weeds...but grass is growing quickly so I did mow the lawn. I may do another application in another 4-5 weeks or so. Hopefully result will be much better.

Yeah it seems to do a better job as a fertilizer then killing the weeds.

You can "spot hit" the weeds. Just be sure they're wet so stuff sticks to leaves. I sometimes gotta do that. You'll notice a lot less dandelions next spring to boot.

Have you had any update since this video? Any products you recommend that worked better? I thought they bad showed you apply twice within the year if not 30 days apart? Maybe after a second application youll have better results.

Excellent video! Question: Is this harmful to birds? If I treat my lawn with this Scotts weed and feed, will the birds mistaken it for food? I don't want to treat the lawn and poison the birds :( Many birds (doves, pigeon, ducks visit my lawn to feed on birdseed.

Honestly I never looked into if it was safe for birds. But I do get alot birds on my lawn as well and I haven't had any issues.

I've been using the Scott's Plus-2 (dandelions) for the last twenty+ years. It works. Very pleased with this product. Do follow directions. I apply in later May here in upstate NY. Oh, you're not supposed to water after application and should give over twenty four hours prior to rain/watering. Nice video.

@@K769.93 - Scotts plus-2/Weed-n-Feed will prevent seeds from germinating. Wait at least a month or so after applying Scotts before seeding. Better still to google Scotts website for complete instructions of their lawn products. Our yard has been dandelion/weed free for several years, the Scott's stuff really works.

@@K769.93 There is no "pre-emergent" herbicide in this specific product so the bag says to wait to plant new grass seed at least one month after the application. Otherwise, you should wait until the new grass has been mowed at least 2 or 3 times, sometimes 4.

The one thing I would say is the most important is to weigh how many lbs you need per 1000sq ft per bag instructions for each section of the lawn (using scotts app can give you an idea of rough sq ft as you can plot your home using satellite view). Otherwise you will never put enough product down following one pass of a slight overlap pattern. If you know how many lbs to apply for total sq ft you can keep overlapping in different directions. Also the lawn is suppose to be moist before application for product to stick.

It depends how much you over did it if it's way to much it can cause damage or even kill it. But it's only a little it's should be fine.

Add some limestone pellets and milorganite and then see how the lawn looks after 2 weeks. Weeds typically mean soil is acidic and needs lime

It clearly says to wet grass prior to spreading the product and then not to water for 24 hours. Product needs to stick to wet weeds.

@@diylawnguyDirections say apply Scott’s when the grass is wet or has du in the yard (early morning). When grass is wet the 10:22 product applied it sticks to broadleafs / weeds. Don’t mow or water grass for at least 24 Hours. If it is suppose to rain within 24 hours don’t apply Scotts. I also recommend rubber boots, N95 mask, and goggles
