Don't know if my other comment is showing up. Might be the way I worded some things. I would spot treat the new crabgrass while it is still very small and young. So I have the problem of several dry patches that need seeding as well as weeds in other parts of the lawn. Since the pre-emergent would inhibit grass growth should I just spot treat with the spray and do my overseeding rather than applying the granules to the entire lawn and then applying seed?

Have you seen any effects on Bermuda runners when applied in the spring?
@BudgetLawns Жыл бұрын
Good question. It will inhibit runners from tacking down if you're trying to fill in dead spots from winter kill or spring dead spot. Unfortunately, it needs to be applied before the extent of any damage is determined during spring green up. So, if you have a history of spring dead spot, it may be worth not applying. Or trying to avoid those typical areas. Another tip I've heard is to cover those areas with a sand and Black Kow mixture to help the runners fill in even with pre-emergent. I've never done that but heard it really works. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and the question.

@BudgetLawns Жыл бұрын
Thank you. Appreciate ya watching. If you just applied it, you're running out of time before winter. With that in mind, you'll realistically have to wait until next spring. If you're just asking in general, I'd wait at least 3 months before seeding after application. That's if you went light on the rate. Hope this helps. Thanks again.
@johnfetter3252 Жыл бұрын
Spectracide Weedstop + Crabgrass control has dithiopyr. It is a pre emergent and thus will stop warm and cool season grass from emerging from seed. Just use the broadleaf product without dithiopyr, and then wait for about 4 months, and go back to the broadleaf post emergent and dithiopyr.
