For your information the 400 Chrysler big block crank is not drilled for a pilot bushing , I found out the hard way, I had to have the bushing cut down on a lathe and also had to shorten the input shaft on the 833 a 4 speed trans.
@ScottsSpeedShop
@ScottsSpeedShop 4 жыл бұрын
I know this, the later model cast crank 440's are typically the same as well, you can either have the crank drilled by a machine shop, or use a pilot bearing in place of the pilot bushing and then cut the input shaft of the transmission. All forged cranks are pre-drilled including most of the aftermarket stroker cranks like what my engine has.

Luckily my Moroso valve covers only have a small leak, but it is something I can live with. I had a really nice pair of Weiand Finned covers but the rockers I have to run hit them, so I either need to run Moroso, stock, or fabricated ones, and out of those options, I a gonna stick with my Morosos. Are you gonna have a console,can the auto one be made to adapt for the 4speed?
@ScottsSpeedShop
@ScottsSpeedShop 4 жыл бұрын
I am gonna be running a bench seat in Jezebel, which is what she had from the factory, I could modify the console to fit the 4 speed hump, but I was never a huge fan of the Charger console

I'm curious why you went with the 23 spline instead of the 18 spline on the A833?
@ScottsSpeedShop
@ScottsSpeedShop 4 жыл бұрын
I used an 18 spline A883, I only used it because I had it, and it was freshly rebuilt. There really isn't any difference between the two 4 speeds other than the spline counts.

Love it my friend 👍👍 What paint do you recommend on headers?
@ScottsSpeedShop
@ScottsSpeedShop 4 жыл бұрын
I use VHT header paint, the trick is running the paint through heat cycles. Weather it is with a torch or the actual exhaust heat. You want to run the engine right until the headers start to smoke, then shut the engine off, and do this 3-4 times. Let the header cool down until they are cold, then start it up, and they shouldn't smoke anymore and you will have successfully baked the paint onto the headers
