I needed a carb for a D8 cat 1957, pony eninge, out over five hundred carbs i looked none would work, the flange to the manfold is on about a ten degree angle, one carb, remaned it said , on ebay for six hundred, i thought gees s new one would be like 300. Why i need one was because mine was broke top and bowl the top was broke right in up to the ventury. So i prepared it for brassing with 16 brass, layed parts on old style hot cast iron radiator in the kitchen, and brassed it all back together left it cool with post heat from radiator then work the high spots down with a file, the worked parts with a honeing stone, to make nice gasket surface, and carb works great, and pony runs smooth, then showed a few people the pictures of the brassed carb then the one on ebay, went up to a thousand dollars

@andrewklahold2880 that is crazy, incredible, and wildly cool, I would love to see that carburetor today, I bet that is just coolest custom repair in the world, thank you for sharing!

They may have given you a rebuild kit for a old zenith. Very similar. I love the old tractors. Grew up on a 48 Ford. Like the muffler better. Plus you need some back pressure.
@ScottsSpeedShop3 жыл бұрын
I think the kit was for a Zenith, I had no idea they made a Zenith that resembled that Marvel Schebler

Dad would never show it , but I would bet that he was smiling ear to ear and happy as a young man with their first car. So modest and calm he is. In my opinion that is why that generation is as get done as much as they do, all equals patience is a virtue. Glad to see it running and the sound is a good blast from my youth out on my uncle's 50+ Acre farm. God bless.

Much like a motorcycle or small engine carb, turning the needle out should richen the mix. Pulls the needle up off its seat and allows more fuel. Sounds like you got it sorted out though. CHeers!
