Yeah, it's powerful enough to break blocks, but like the Rock Mushroom is too fast and hard to control. They have the same concept really, but I think it works better in 3D than small screen 2D. This was just a chaotic headache of a power-up that I used purely to access areas.

Basically: NSMB: Great. NSMBW: First game but with some added features and more complaints. NSMB2: Where it went wrong. Too many coins. Even more complaints. Makes you miss important events. Gold Flower is cool though. Addictive. NSMBU: Cool gimmicks, but that can't save it. Super Acorn and Baby Yoshis are cool. Nabbit is a thing. A *LOT* of complaints. World 8 theme is cool. New modes are decent. NSLU: Levels are different, complimenting Luigi. Nabbit is new Player 4, he's pretty cool. Better than NSMBU.

I think the NSMB series has been hurt by the fact that they've been outclassed by likes of Kirby, Donkey Kong, and now even the likes of Wooly World or Sonic Mania in terms of innovative level design, soundtrack, and aesthetics. Honestly to me, Super Mario Maker is the only really standout 2D Mario platformer of the last 25 years and that's due to the creativity of fan efforts more than anything.

There's so many platformers to choose from now(both 2D and 3D) that it's really, really hard for Mario to have something that's good and stands out from other platformers out there. At least for me anyway as I never had Mario as my first platform game, I just enjoy it's spin-off games a lot more. Which sucks for me as all the Mario spin-off I used to like are just not good anymore. (Especially Paper Mario, Mario Party and the Mario sports games)

My most cherish memory with this series is spending hours in the backseat of the car playing poker against Luigi. Objectively I would say: 1: NSMB U 2: NSMB Ds 3.NSMB Wii 4.NSMB 2 (that one was just boring) But the Ds one was my first Nintendo Game ever and I had so much more fun playing it than almost every other game ever so i like it most. I found everything by myself in this game and it took long but it was so statisfying and the gameplay was not that hard but an okay challenge and I felt like god in this game when I learnt to be good in it and master the mechanics
