Scott the weld "super tacks" are a great solution to adding the flanges. They simulate the castings of past era's work while giving a very believable period image. Great solution.
@ScottTurnerformeindustrious5 жыл бұрын
Thanks again Kevin. I think for this style the tack welds look the part. I'm always reluctant to fully weld something like this due to distortion. TIG would be the best option in that case probably.

Absolutely gorgeous! From the thumbnail I thought you were using castings, but couldn't imagine you had cast anything that large yourself, and wondered where you had found such perfect castings. Seeing the full detail was even better. And there's something about those two brass pins that really sells the entire design for me.

Thank you. Fantastic video and I love the industrial style furniture that you make. I’m building a rat rod motorcycle and I’ve been looking for something that would add visual interest to the frame,,, the way the spot welds make a pattern around the inside edges might be what I’m looking for. I’m going to experiment with that element and see how it looks. Thanks again for inviting us all along on your journey.

Scott, your video production is awesome, thanks very much. Now this coffee table in my view is a simply stunning piece of work.
