Love you work Scott. Id recommend cutting the corner pieces out prior to assembly. This will allow you to assemble it without cutting through your stitch lines. I get that you are sewing over the cut lines in the end, but they will still be prone to unraveling without a back stitch. Keep up the great work, its a joy to watch.

@ScottTurnerformeindustrious4 ай бұрын
It would be possible with the right layout. You can experiment with paper cutouts (Patterns). The notches for me was trial and error. If they are square (all equal sides) the bag should be width/ height equidistant, or close to it.

Hi Doug, I'm probably the wrong person to ask. If it is light thin leather something like the Singer 201 will do it. If it is Veg Tan Leather you probably need a heavier duty machine (Walking Foot). I have a Singer 201 which I bought a few weeks back and it is a superb machine that I bought rather cheap. Made in 1957 Like my PFAFF 230.

Thanks Vickie! I'd like to use a brass zipper, but on this design you sew through the zipper area and I have to work out the best way to do that. The nylon zipper is shortish and not under a lot of stress, I think it will be okay, and you can sew through them, even the chunk ones. Cheers!

@ScottTurnerformeindustrious3 жыл бұрын
The zipper should be longer than your canvas. If you note mine in the video is slightly longer than the length of canvas. The reason is so that you don't have to sew through the end stops of the zipper , which is harder. Yes you can shorten the bag to suit
