Hey everyone, thanks for watching! The most common questions I'm getting in the comment section are: 1) Is there any latency when switching patches? I don't notice any... of course it might be different if you change literally every single thing including the amp and 12 different pedals, but for my setup, it's not noticeable. 2) Can you change individual pedals on and off with the footswitch? No... it just changes patches. I personally prefer that because I have "clean, rhythm, lead, wah lead, ambient clean, etc" for patches. I used to want individual control over my pedals, but I actually really prefer this way. I have certain patches for certain songs too. Like Shut Up And Dance has that delay guitar intro, and I have that tempo mapped exactly to the tempo we play to on 5A and the solo has a Chorus fx on it that's on 5D for example. Hope that helps!
@johnbarrios45319 ай бұрын
Yes I am think of that now .. patch changing instead of every pedal …
@MattBrodeurMusic8 ай бұрын
I saw a video the S1 and you can link one of these pedals to that, so you have 8 pedals total. And on that device you can assign the additional buttons to turn individual effects on and off.

Hey everyone, thanks for watching! It looks like the combo on Amazon for the Footswitch and P2 is sold out. However, you can still buy them individually. I've updated the description as well, but you can buy the P2 here: amzn.to/3vjdvDf and the footswitch here: amzn.to/48uBj5w I know the initial run of these was limited (which is why I was not able to get a 2nd one for a giveaway this time, so I got a 2nd footswitch instead). Anyway, hope you all had a great New Years! Hope your gigs are full in 2024 and the number of times you have to play Sweet Home Alabama are at a minimum 😅

Hi Scott, you are my "go to" for advice on kit and its use. Your stuff on Mooer prime is great and I use a P1 and GTRS for my main rig. I’ve just bought the S1. On part 2 of your common questions reply you begin to talk about how you structure your banks clean, rhythm, lead etc. I’d really love you to do a video on how to have your banks set up in a structured way. Whether to put all the clean patches together on a bank or two, or maybe to start each bank with a clean on A, then rhythm of B, then lead on C, then a specialist one on D for example. Would love to see what you have to say about that. Big thanks from me in the UK for what you do. Neil
@ScottUhlMusic3 ай бұрын
Thanks man! And for this I generally do either of these: Clean, fx, rhythm, lead Clean, overdrive, distortion, lead And I’ll some some for specific songs. Like shut up and dance has a specific delay pattern and then an fx for the lead to mimic the keyboard. Or enter sand man has a chorus fx on the clean and then auto wah for the lead. Stuff like that. But for the most part, I generally use the other two. I do have one patch that has delay on them, and one without delay. I do wish there was more control over each fx sometimes, but with how compact it is, this works great!
@neildixon60813 ай бұрын
@@ScottUhlMusic Thanks Scott, that’s good to know. Regarding more control on the fx, when I get to look at the S1 properly, I believe it can be used with the gtrs and use that to turn up to 4 fx on and off.

1) PRS? Bring back the JTV-59. Would've been cool to see/hear that with the P2 2) "Minimal rig": How about also connecting the vocal mic to the mic input? It has its own channel with FX right? Straight connection to a PA and we have full control 😎 3) You showed the external MIDI switch board but what if it had an expression pedal. Would the FX parameters respond?

Thanks for the informative video, it has reduced the time I spent figuring it all out. Trying to get a sound I like is where I need to spend even more effort. There are a lot of options. What about a video breaking down guitar sounds? Like how much depth in a chorus sound, speeds of multiple delays, and what to listen for in an edge of breakup tube sound. Very interesting device I think the price point is spot on. I'm thinking the foot switch is a bit flimsy and I could see some sort of friction tape on the bottom to keep it in place on stage so it doesn't move around. The midi is definitely the way to go. Hi)) few common questions about such products: 1. Does it has WAH that can be controlled by pedal? 2. Does it has octaver? 3. Delay questions - when DLY FX turns OFF, will it cut the tail (cuz mighty plug pro 3 wiil not and that is great!!)? - can feedback be controlled by pedal? can DLY time be synced with other stuff like DAW or other hardware (is there a global sync option with midi clock out or ableton link)? question about midi captain setup - have you tried a pedal with midi captain on this or other setups? have you noticed latency issues with wireless midi mate? or some strange pedal activity with values jumping? midi connection of a pedal to moer: does it uses midi BLE broadcast technology to connect pedals? can M-Vave chocolate be connected to it? Thanks)
@ScottUhlMusic8 ай бұрын
It does not have an expression input for a pedal, but it has auto wah that I use that works pretty well. The octaver is there but not great or really useable IMO I do not believe the trails stay on, but I’m not sure. I don’t use the midi mate with the midi captain, I think the wired one or the CME WIDI are better. And anything that can send midi to the midi port on this will work with it. Cheers 👍

Great review. The only real advantage I see over the P1 is the ability to work with it from the touch screen without the app. I have to say, I took my P1 on tour this year and had it crap out a couple of times. I had to connect with the app and select any patch for it to start working again. It still beat flying with my pedal board & flight case.

This device is awesome. You can get pretty convincing sounds expecially with 3rd party irs. I also use it with a preamp pedal, loading irs and post fx and is incredible. The only cons, which aren’t a big deal anyway, are that you cannot turn on or off the blocks, that you cannot directly delete or change place to a preset ( you can manually delete the effect chain, and you can save a preset to another slot and then delete the chain of the original one) and that there are no acoustic guitar like on the P1. But for the price and the size is a very very good piece of gear!

For example, the "swipe up" gesture to remove a pedal block is undocumented. Looking forward to an update to the beta-ish software we have now. Zero updates from Mooer. Since October. 7 months is a loooong time. Frustrating when this is such a promising platform. The Soldano amp models are super sharp. Remarkable in such a small package. IR is all the rage now.

I love super tiny compact FX amps and wireless stuff - Ive used plenty - this thing seems an essential addition to my gear - along with the BT footswitch! Massively versatile. I just wander if the ODs sounds organic with good dynamic variances? Also are the patches volume balances - nearly all digital multi FX units have huge imbalance between patches for live use. A boost feature and switchable clean/OD/Dist options would be good & stomp box on/off would be handy for live work. Great review! Thanks

I found that ordering them online from an online shop here called Shopee will let you buy the P2 and wireless footswitch for less than the cost of the P2 alone when ordered through Amazon. But that's probably because the units will ship from mainland China, which is close to the Philippines. Again, great video! 😃

So many great upgrades in the P2. The Looper and Tuner look great in this. I would have loved to see an expression pedal option and/or dual signal chains and/or a loop and at that point this would be near perfect. But unfortunately I don't see this as a primary rig and there's a lot of options in this lower end of the market including some older 2nd hand products that are still great so I think that makes this price for this unit a little difficult for me to justify. Hi Scott, and Happy New Year (yeah, I know I'm a bit late...) Enjoyed the thorough review. I've tried bluetooth pedals in the past with an iPad app (doing fly dates) and the primary issues I ran into were occasional Bluetooth drop outs, or app resets, which I found catastrophic in the middle of a festival show. I have been using the Mooer GE350 Lite (fits in a backpack!!) lately, and it's functionally fabulous. Not too excited about the sound, though. Mostly doing backline gigs, so I'm only using it for pedals. My main gripe is that it is a tone suck. My guitar signal going thru the device gets muddied, even with no effects present. Wondering if you have any experience with the GE series? Have a great new year!

I have not used the GE series. And occasionally the Bluetooth does disconnect but then it reconnects, but that doesn’t bother me since I use the GTRS system which has the button on the guitar. I’m pretty sure MOOER is coming out with a version similar to the P2 just as an all in one unit

This looks like it has a lot of options available for such a small device. Happy new year!

Happy New Year!!! Do you think this would be useful for Bass Guitar? Kind of wish you would include bass in your demo's sometimes. Your channel is useful on new gear, wireless, and tutorials, but don't see much on bass... which is what I play. Love the content non the less.

I definitely think you could use this with bass 👍

Happy New Year! This was a great look at this product. I thought about getting the GTRS, but love my current guitar so much that this would be a much better way for me to run those good models without having to keep them contained in just one axe.

Scott, Happy New Year!!! I think what's great about this too is it could just be your effects for a pedalboard. I could replace verbs and delays with this and the 4 button wireless would be a killer skinny thing on my board. Then is always onstage ready to kick it over if needed to be the live rig with a cable change out to FOH direct or something. Have you tried just doing effects into an amp loop yet? Love to see how it would play out.
@ScottUhlMusic11 ай бұрын
That’s true too! I actually sold all my amps and I only go direct now, but you definitely could use this for that!

Happy New Year again. Hey Scott, regarding this video, few questions: Did you record by a DAW after connecting this device directly to your digital interface? If I want to play it live, will it connect directly to a PA? Do I need to connect it to an amp? If connecting to an amp, then I suppose I should not go to front of the amp, but into a Power IN, correct? What if the amp has no Power IN? One last question: If I apply an IR/Cab but then connect to an amp that has its own speaker and cab: how does this work together? in other words is the IR/Cab of this device getting "lost" by the actual amp's cab? sorry for so many questions, but will truly appreciate it if you can take the time to reply. Happy New Year to you again man!

I connected it into my audio interface. I could have recorded it via usb c if I wanted to, but I don’t know why I didn’t haha. You can connect it directly into a mixer or turn off the cab sims (or amps) and go into an amp and/or cab. Whichever way you use it, you have options 👍

@@ScottUhlMusicI see. Thanks much Scott! I hope it's okay I'll ask one last question: If I have an amp with a speaker that doesn't have a Power IN, so I must go to the front of the amp (with its own preamp ..) - does this mean I should turn off IRs and cab sims?

Happy new year! Great Video!!! This is perfect for my in studio layout. I have minimal space and a large pedal board or even storing multiple pedals is an issue. I have guitars, bass, n keyboards and I am always trying diff combos. I think this multi function squak box is a great idea!!!

Happy New Year! I already have a Spark Mini which has a similar app but is missing the looper and some of the control features of the P2. So I am probably not in the market for it now. Nice work on the video!
