I have bought from donner as Well, they make microphones and j have been working on uograding my streaming setup, again, i bought both dynamic and condenser xlr mics they have, and i swear i have never been more impressed with 50 dollar version an an sm7b. Donner truely knows what theyre doing

Thanks! I only use one of the intimidator spot duo movers which are discontinued. And for software I use Dmxis… which unfortunately is also discontinued which is a huge bummer. That thing was awesome!

@@ScottUhlMusic Thank you for all your efforts to help others! Do you still program lighting? I have 6 movers, 4 scanners, , and 40 LED cans that I need to learn how to program and need as much help as possible. Would you recommend the MYDMX 3.0 software?

I need to look into other software. DMXIS was SO easy, I wish they still had it. But MyDmx is what I was planning on looking into. And yeah I still do program lighting. Both my own, and other people’s light shows as well as teach people how to 👍

I saw you can set the receivers on a color. Since there are multiple colors, can you program several different colors for a larger set up?

I haven’t done that personally, so I’m not sure, but I believe that you would need multiple controllers/transmitters since you are receiving on multiple channels

Another question... if we want to put some stage "spots" on tripods, what figures do you recommend for a non profit organization? Since video will be made we want them white. The Chauvet 4 Bar we already have is way too blue and not bright enough.

Do they operate with RGBW/Y lights? I mean I have equipments that includes white/yellor colors. I have noticed they just mention they can operate RGB equipments (red, green, blue and combination of them).

You can use these with any lighting that accepts DMX. If it accepts a DMX cable, these will work with it

Question, I have the ADJ Airstream, could I plug these into that and my lights and run everything off that program on my iPad? Currently all my dance floor lighting is wired up and on a light stand. If this can work for me, I will save so much time not hooking up cables.

Do you know, if one of the batteries goes out, if the light will still play it’s current scene? Or does the light turn off, once one of the batteries 🪫 goes out?

That’s a fair question. I’ve never had the batteries die during a performance, so I’m not sure. I’m willing to bet it just stays on the scene though, because it will just stay at whatever the last DMX signal it got

A couple questions: 1. If they don't have the built in batteries do you have to plug each one in to an adapter? 2. Can these be combined with wired DMX? For instance, could you put the transmitter at the end of a daisy chain? Sometimes we might have more nearby lights than if we bought wireless for all.

The light itself does not charge the wireless dongle if that’s what you are asking. But I use battery powered lights with these battery powered DMX dongles all the time 👍

Hi, there! Good video, I am planning to buy one of these. One question, if you tried: one transmitter and one receiver and after that DMX cables from the first device to others, is that possible. I mean, it's not about being cheap, but for my setup is more convenient, since I have all my lights on powercon plugs linked between, and DMX also linked, so only I will use one receiver for all setup. It will send all the 512 DMX channel on the same receiver and after that from the first device to the others? If you have tested that, I will appreciate an answer. Thanks! @@ScottUhlMusic It should be a thing ;) I've actually been looking for power adapters that go from IEC C14 to USB sockets. It would have been really convenient because so many spotlights have an IEC Power Connector output. (That would have minimized cables and avoided a hanging power supply)

I just bought the pack with 1 transmitter and 3 battery powered dongles but the dongles (none of them) will not power off when I press the power button... they just remain on?

Looking to use these for a permanent install. What happens when the unit loses power and then regains power? Does it turn back on and go to the last known state or do you have to manually power them back on?

I believe you would have to manually turn these on. I would ask, if you are doing a permanent install, why not just use DMX cables? That would be my suggestion personally for a permanent install 👍

@@ScottUhlMusic Trying to keep everything clean and snaking thru the ceiling is going to be a nightmare. We have already tried to setup access panels for this purpose but it looks like the entire ceiling will need to be demo'ed due to multiple layers from past owners. I was also considering the same issue for audio.

Gotcha. That makes sense. I guess you could just always leave it plugged in since you can use these while they are already plugged in, but that might give you the same issue since you need to get power for every single unit. Best of luck man 🤘

So you want to go cable in with DMX and then the wireless out? If that’s what you mean, then no that wouldn’t work. I’m curious why you would need to run it that way? You could do the transmitter out of a DMX out I guess though. And then plug the wireless receivers into other lighting gear. That would work 👍

Hi Scott, i have 20 pars, and 2 moving heads. How many of the receivers do I need? Do I have to purchase a receiver for each light?

If you want every single one to be wireless then you would need 22 of them. But if you want to daisy chain them you can limit the number you need. So say you have 10 pars right next to each other... you could just get 1 wireless receiver to plug into the first one’s DMX in and then daisy chain to the other 9. But if you want them all to be wireless, you’ll need 22. Cheers!

I have not used this with more than one transmitter personally. But you are supposed to be able to do that 👍

​@@matthewgarrison3816You can use multiple transmitters but they must NOT be on the same TX (transmit) channel. You can either use two transmitters on different TX channels (defined by the colour LED during setup) and they COULD be connected to the same DMX controller output XLR socket using an adapter, but to be honest there really is no point in doing that as the range is good for most work using a single TX . . .HOWEVER if you want to reach further afield to either increase range or get around a blind corner that the first TX device cannot reach, then it is possible to use TX No.1 out of the controller, then cable daisy chain your fixtures in the rigging, and then at the end you can use TX No.2 (on a different TX channel) that 'throws' the DMX signal onto the next rigging that may be out of view around a corner (just make sure the fixture receiver your are 'throwing' to is setup to the same channel as the second TX channel. One final point, you dont HAVE to plug the transmitter directly into your controller socket, you could run a DMX cable up to a point mounted higher and plug the transmitter into the end of the cable for an improved and more reliable signal transmisstion. Do I have to have the same color on every Wireless controller connected to the light? If so, I can't control the lights with a Dmx controller separately. If I have red on one light and blue on the other, how can I control it separately on Dmx, if it is even possible. I have an F2 Dmx.

@@ScottUhlMusic Yes, you understand correctly. I tried them with the same color and they can be controlled all at once, but only under the Manual button. If I save them under Scenes, they can only be turned on individually. I also have yet to figure out how the Chase button works. I am a beginner.

What I am not seeing is the ability to set that "2nd fixture" (and 3rd and 4th) to a different color and control it *independently*. Currently, you have the transmitter's color matching a receiver's color. Fine, BUT, can those two (or more!!) fixtures operate *independently* when going down the Wireless DMX route using one (1) transmitter? Can anyone assist me with this? Thanks!!!

I just got some of these and didn't see anything specified if the receivers will auto power off after a certain period of time if they're not getting any commands or if you if you have to manually power them off. You can leave them plugged into power and leave them on indefinitely I believe. I’m pretty sure they still have a version that is a little cheaper for that as well 👍

Pro tip use the charge port to change the setting that is how it was designed guess they thought it was ituitiv so they never explain, using a sharp object is the most intuitive thing to do. I AM LOOKING for a button hack, may have to I vent my own. I'll let ya know.
