I had an 05 RL its mostly aluminum yea no rust mine had 227K. It was beat to heck when I got it but I fixed it up cheap and drove it for a couple years. I loved mine until I wrecked it but it was great only complaint was the oil leak that would spray on the exhaust if I hit the gas to hard, I think it was the crank seal or something down there. Trans and motor are perfect 05 and up. I had to change one of my struts but yeah I miss it.

I'm a Toyota/Lexus guy (I have an IS300), but I still really like Honda/Acura (my dad had a '94 Acura Legend back in the day). I consider them 1A and 1B for comfort and reliability, they both tend to have beautiful aesthetics and you really can't go wrong with either as long as you maintain them and do your due diligence for inspection and research on each specific model. No car is perfect, but Japanese cars just stand above the rest for the least amount of issues over time versus European and Domestic cars.

Update: September 2020 it got totaled by a stupid driver trying to run a red-light. Had it since December 2019. I mourn the days when my recent cars break down and ever since then I haven't been able to find a vehicle as bulletproof as this car was. Started everyday, never leaked, never stopped running after endless hours, hell it was so reliable I would just do preventative maintenance just because I would be bored not working on it for awhile. my Aruca RL had headlight issues - those tracking headlights cost a FORTUNE to fix. They didn't sell many RLs, and they are nice, but they are rare and cost tons to fix.
@matthewalbers313 жыл бұрын
@@captinbeyond I agree. Don't buy a maroon red 2007 RL with light tan interior from Ohio - as it had a run-in with a 300lb White Tail Deer. After the insurance paid $8K to fix the front end and those now cross-eyed headlights, and the sun-roof (hoof hit the roof and shattered it) and a new paint job (Urine does wonders to the finish)... sure ... it's a great used RL...

I use to own 2008 Acura RL. Owned it for about 5 years and put about 80k miles. That was probably the most reliable vehicle I ever owned. The only repair as far as I remember was the emission sensor. Other than that it was rock solid. The only complain is that the leather seem to have pre-mature wear, especially at the door and console where you rest your arms.

Had one of this. Was over 230,000 miles. Got involved in a wreck where I was tossed from one end of the median strip to the other on a very slippery highway. I came out alive to the glory of God with a badly damage rear. I loved that cat so much that till date I still wished I could go get another one. It never gave me any issue apart from the Air conditioning system that was faulty. It drove so smooth. Very quiet and comfortable. The sound system in this car (Bose) is the best I've seen in any Japanese car. I got 4th Gen TL thereafter and I can tell the difference even though they're 7 years apart. The TL isn't even near as smooth and comfortable in driving as this RL that was made 7 years before it. If you are someone who doesn't really like long hours trip, this car would always want you to go on a road trip. The v6 engine is so quick as well. One thing though, the parts are very expensive due to the fact that they didn't produce much of it.

For some reason the Acura TL has more rear seat room and it cost less but it's not made in Japan. Even if it's made in Ohio it's still a good car
@Nestle2453 жыл бұрын
Agreed this was supposed to be bigger inside but it's pretty cramped. The TL of the same year got more spacious backseats.

I have owned two TL’s, both made in Marysville, OH, an ‘03 and an ‘08. I still say the ‘04 thru ‘08 generation TL is the best looking Acura ever produced. The only problem I ever had was the leather on the driver’s seat of the ‘08 wore out and split at the perforations with less than 80k miles. I took it to a local leather shop and replaced it. The owner of the shop told me he had done many with the same problem. The leather seats in the Acura TL in this video looks identical.

I work for a dealership, ask to see which cars were a trade in. They put money into them to meet all the standard safety issues, its the best way to get the best discount. Dealers take a trade in and the car's value is based on current auction prices. Offer a dealer $1000 or less above what they're in on the total price of the car after they fixed and detailed it. They still need to make a profit as with any company that has a product.

I’ve had my Acura rl for around 7 years. I was the second owner and I bout with around 65,000 miles on it and I’ve put almost 150,000 miles on. It’s such a great car in the snow and rain and if you take care of it you will be rewarded with longevity. They really are great cars and safe. Pretty good on gas for how much output it has

Much luck and enjoyment brother. I just traded my infiniti for a 12’ TL I want to enjoy it, pay it off and around 2023 or 2024 get into the type S. It gives me time to pay this TL off and for any bugs that appear in the 2021 and 22 models to get fixed. When you get your type s, you should post a video.

My dad bought an 1999 Acura CL for $2,200 because it has a bad transmission. It has a hard shift between 1st and 2nd, but has 178,000 miles on it and we gave it to a friend and she's taken it from Ohio to Florida twice with no problems.
@komradkolonel3 жыл бұрын
That car looks practically new. The thing I would be extra careful about with an older Acura or Honda is the transmission. I would go over it or have it gone over with a very fine comb. Some people drive those things hard and that can wear out the transmission before its time.

Hello Scotty I was always fond of the Acura before I knew a lot about cars I got into the car dealership business I got out of the car dealership business but before I closed down I purchased a 2006 Acura RL the same color as the one you're showing it had 101,000 miles on it one owner it was an Immaculate shape so I purchased it for my personal use. I'm also in New Jersey and every time I change the oil my mechanic gushes over how beautiful it is underneath no rust no issues. When I purchased it I had him replace the water pump and the timing belt. Thank you for your confirmation the only problem that I have had with the car in the 12 months that I owned it is that I periodically get a check TPMS Banner every so often and then it disappears any suggestions as to what I should do? Thanks in advance my son and I love your shows.
