Scotty, I used to work as a manufacturing engineer..... And one day we had a consultant come into our plant to describe to us the kanban system (just in time) of manufacturing in Japan. It was quite a comprehensive presentation. But I remember that one of the things he brought up is that in Japan companies are not permitted to go out of business. For example, if a vacuum cleaner manufacturer is having a sales slump and is in danger of going out of business....... The Japanese government willl make other vacuum cleaner companies come to their rescue and help them to become solvent again. This also works with the manufacturing of automobiles. So that is why you may find a working relationship between Japanese automobile manufacturers who should be natural enemies........ But instead are assigned to help each other through a difficult situation.

It is a high performance car, with the crucial 40-80mph highway merge/pass time significantly quicker than LC500 and IS500, especially the final edition allegedly making 420 of those Bavarian disguised jumbo horses (may well be close to 500 SAE horses). It's a way of getting people into the dealership then buy a less expensive performance car like the GR86 or GR Corolla.

people keep paying it, dont blame toyota for what their fanbase demands. they demanded the higher prices when they keep buying it. "it's a toyota! :)" people did this. It's also why iphones are thousands of dollars for something that costs 40 dollars to make in a sweatshop, people keep buying it like it's mandatory. Americans will sit in a drive though to pay 9 dollars for a chicken sandwich while complaining about the high price, leave their engine idling the entire time while complaining about the price of fuel, and be in a brand new toytota that costs as much as my house while also complaining about car prices. this is all 100% optional, Americans love the misery.

I sold cars at a Ford/Lincoln/Mercury small town dealership in 2000-2003. Our owner would not allow any sales person to lie to customers. Our dealership would not sell third party warranties our owner said they were crap. Our extenand warranty was 899.00 and it was a 85,000 miles on everything and 100,000 miles on the drive train and had a 100 deductible. If they used it at our dealer there would be no deductible.

I think it’s worth pointing out one thing - for many people who are not mechanics, not super mechanically inclined and who don’t know a lot of people that are, buying from a private individual often times either isn’t realistic or their aren’t many options in your area. The dealers are there for a reason, people go to them when they are in need for a car and don’t have connections/leads elsewhere. These days, I feel like it’s really hard to find private deals. Idk, maybe it’s just me. Or I just need to meet more gearheads lol

Im hoping in the next 2 years i can save up about 25k to $30k and buy a 2024 Toyota Camry TRD. By that time it will be 2027 and the 24 Camry will be at least 3 years old already. Im going to try and save about $500 a paycheck in 2 years. Going to be hard asf and very ambitious.

I love how people put Toyota on a pedestal. Toyota in turn have let all of you know the prices have increased and the reliability has decreased with no f's given. You all will still buy. Hurry up and buy!

I understand car dealerships are private entities but how can you wake up and go to work and talk people into buying a car for 20k+ over msrp. If people were smart enough they would all say no to these prices and we could burry them

Scotty I get why you don’t like buying cars at a dealer but when you buy a car off of the street you don’t know what the person is liable to do and you don’t know what problems the car has
