When I was buying my VW Passat the dealer had me go over to pick it up of the lot, and the guy who drove me there had a 1995 Corolla. It looked pretty beat up. I asked him with all these cars around why he drove such a piece of junk. I will never forgive the look he gave me. Then he said this piece of junk has more life in it than 5 Passats. Yep! My Passat is somewhere in junk yard now , and he is still driving that old Corolla !

These Corollas are terrific. I bought a 98 Corolla for my daughter 6 yrs. ago when she got her license. She didn't think it was cool, so she went out an bought an Infiniti G35. So, I use the Corolla as my daily driver. It's the most reliable car in the house and I have a BMW 528i, Volvo S60 , and a Mitsubishi Outlander at home. But running around town, I still take the Corolla. It has about 200K miles and needs very little maintenance. Most of the parts are inexpensive and it's an easy car to work on.

yes you get that with a naturally aspirated engine with throttle bodies + that it has variable valve timing.

Hot rodding lives on. That is a nice looking car. Scotty is less than a year older than I am, so he may understand what I did in the '70's. I had a 1961 Studebaker Lark, but the engine went out. I found a wrecked '60 Cadillac, and my friends and I put the 390 cubic inch Caddy engine and 4 speed hydramatic trans in the Lark. Looked stone stock outside, but it was fast!!

I miss my 90 Corolla SR-5, I made it look like a GT-S style (as the only mod I did). These were great cars to maintain & super reliable. These models were sporty looking too, low hood, flip up lights, etc. Why the heck did I ever sell that?!

What I like he's didn't put awful body kit and wing so congrats on keeping the body as stock as possible.

My first car was a 1997 Audi A3, I still have it since 2015, but on December 2018 I bought a 1995 Toyota Corolla. Just like another comments around here, this car is extremely reliable. It has more than 260k on the odometer and is still very strong. The A3 is reliable too, but I don't know anymore which I love the most hahaha

I always thought people always modify corollas since in my country you cpuld find the same corolla with a mr2 engine on boost.
