Drive train power loss varies, but is about a 10% loss. But 465 plus at the flywheel on a V6,---nice. There is no way to accurately measure drive train power loss unless you dyno both at the wheels and the crank. But you know that. You're in the ball park, but on the high side IMO. Nice car.

I'm planning on doing a bit of work to it starting with the air intake. I'm not going full bore with the pro charger (It's a $6,000+ addon) but strut brace, air intake, new driveshaft and 3.73 gears with a Bama tuner to re-tune the engine after the mods will do nicely... get a new wheel and tire package and I'll be done... stock the thing is damn good anyways, but tinkering is half the fun lol.

I bet the best performance upgrade was the 485 hp sticker. That had to add 105 horsepower. Just kidding. Nice to the owner, I don't blame him, V8's are too mainstream and those who think we're not allowed to have options in our mustangs are probably sleeping with their sisters or brothers. We should be allowed to have our cars anyway we want them.
@shabutir18206 жыл бұрын
Yeshua Man Buying a V6 or 4 banger mustang is like buying a 4 banger large truck. Its just not going to do its job right. You buy a Mustang for power, not looks. Lets face it, its still a Ford at the end of the day. It just doesnt make any sense.
@godgirlsguitars6 жыл бұрын
I disagree, I wanted a mustang for the looks, not power. If I wanted the power then I would go to the V8. But not everybody wants a powerful mustang. That's why we should have options. And as far as trucks you mentioned, I'd rather have an inline 5 than a v8, I don't plan on doing any towing, just hauling a few things and as long as it can keep up with the speed limits, that's all I need. I'd have more fun driving a slow car fast than a fast car slow. My mom has a 400 hp Camaro and it's a waste. By the time I get into 2nd gear after a few seconds, I'm already speeding. If you take it to the track, that's another thing.
@randymiller16106 жыл бұрын
There's nothing wrong with having options, but I do think the reason they didn't buy the V8 doesn't make any sense (for me at least). For you a V6 makes sense because you're not buying it for power, but they did want power and bought a V6 and then spent likely more than it would have cost to buy the V8 just to get the V6 up to the V8 power range. Buying a V8 for them would have likely saved them money, maintained any warranty the car had, and would have given the car better resale value.
@shabutir18206 жыл бұрын
Yeshua Man Haha. My civic coupe is for looking good and going the speed limit while getting great mpg. My CL600 was for looking sexy and doing 0-60 in 5 seconds while getting 3mpg at best under a heavy foot. No sense in putting my civics 4 banger in my CL600. That would be stupid. My opinion though. I guess Ford decided there was a market for slow stangs decades ago.

Turned v6 are better than v8. Especially when it comes to handling. There's a reason why the new Ford gt has a v6
@kbdadriftking6 жыл бұрын
Ashish Patel it has a 6 because that Ecoboost was a proven power plant...and they could achieve what they wanted out of it. Which was more topspeed based than handling based. The amount of cylinders doesn't always equal a heavier engine. And if you told me to build a race car...I'm more than likely going to go with an 8 cylinder
@alexpetree20386 жыл бұрын
Ashish Patel then why are most race cars(including German cars) built with v8s?
@crdesignz99416 жыл бұрын
Um most race cars are not V8s. Indy Car and Formula 1 racing use V6s
@alexpetree20386 жыл бұрын
C Rush most gt cars are v8s, dtm cars are v8s, stock cars are V8, and drag cars are almost always v8s. Indy car and f1 combined don't have as many series to compare to Nascar even, much less the drag racing or gt racing.
@crdesignz99416 жыл бұрын
Yep, and the only cars faster than Indy car and F1 are drag cars. The rest of them "V8's" would get smoked. Also the greatest spectacle in racing is the INDY 500 so your point in meaningless.

I agree there’s less than a thousand in the country. I ran into a guy with a v6 mustang. Engine programming. Injectors. Gearing. Full bolt one. 6k brake kit. And I know not many people do that much to their v6.

I wanted something unique, so I got a v6 Mustang. Think you need to look up unique.

You're missing the point, a tastfully modded 485hp V6 Mustang. How is that not unique?
@LoveMyKleeKai6 жыл бұрын
@@dakotanewcombe7843 it's not unique in the sense of it's still a factory option engine. It's not like he 2j swapped it

Actual sounds good for a Ford v6
@SeriusChevy6 жыл бұрын
Man if you would've got a 5.0 you could have about the same power and performance with a stock motor. Plus that sound, when you revved it at the beginning. Lmfao I'm sorry but the 5.0 sounds like a beast compared to that six you got. I'd rather have that amazing sound then a more powerful 6 cylinder lol. Just saying. Also my stock 2012 can run under 13 in a quarter with no upgrades to the engine at all, so all that money you spent on that 6 just to be equal to a stock 2012 5.0
@LoveMyKleeKai6 жыл бұрын
V8 would run cooler as well

Nice car and video, but the cold air intake is sucking in hot air from the engine compartment. You need to isolate the air filter from the engine heat, maybe install the factory air box with a K&N filter and see how it performs. You can use a OBDII scan tool to read the intake air temp to see the difference between sucking in engine heat and not sucking engine heat into the intake.

How do uk he drives at full throttle..its a daily driver and he takes care of it why would he. Not everyone likes to destroy their car. Even sports car cant handle full throttle. Its all a bunch of bull. U have to do extreme maintenance if you want to.

This is the 1st guy I've ever seen quote the crank horsepower despite having measured the wheel hp, just so he can impress with a larger number. Kudos.
@wmc1286 жыл бұрын
GI D crank hp s what every manufacturer goes by when they release specs for a vehicle so why would it be weird of what if he has 485HP painted on his supercharger. whp only matters to you at the track not on public roads.
@gdevelek6 жыл бұрын
No. Crank HP is what you have to settle for if you don't know the wheel HP. Track or public roads, it's wheel HP that matters. At least on this planet.
@wmc1286 жыл бұрын
when you see a blacked out explorer with sirens in the rear mirror ;it won't matter how fast your car goes in a straight away... it won't matter how much power you put to wheels on public roads cause you won't reach past 3rd gear in city driving conditions.
