I had a new 96 Ford F-250 as a work truck. Absolutely fell in love with that model year. The exhaust does make noise after some years up by the exhaust manifolds because Ford did not use exhaust gaskets on the manifolds during production. I purchased aftermarket gaskets and installed them and all was again quiet on top.

@@ToddC13 It's like here in Europe. The owner may not increase the rent by more than 10% per year. If he does this, he must notify the tenant in writing. If this happens, the tenant will notify the apartment owner in writing that he is acting against the law and that he was forced to report it to the Police. The tenant of the apartment really has to make a report to the Police, so the owner cannot evict him - terminate - the tenancy agreement. And then it takes at least a year in Europe for the court to resolve it. Above all, do not sign any new contract!!! The tenant's power is in the old contract. The power of the owner is in the new contract. All correspondence always in your own hands - confirmation from the post office that the letter has been received. Always a copy of the letter to which you attach a confirmation from the post office that the addressee has received the letter. It will end up +10% and the owner will have to pay all court costs (the tenant must ask the court that the owner pay all court costs because only the owner committed the illegal act.

I added a qt of lucas and it shifted into second, like it should, before I got out of the driveway. I got another two years out of it and was quite happy to have saved it for less than 20 bucks. The power steering additive sealed up a rack on a 96 Beretta for me, it's good stuff and so is the oil additive.

Ford had a problem with their automatic transmissions back in the 90s. I had a 94 mustang gt, a 95 mercury couger xr7, and a 96 Ford high top conversion van and all 3 had transmissions that slipped and/or "chattered" between gears and required a viscosity additive. A friend had a mid 90s F150 same thing. But the additive seemed to clear it up. Btw, everyone wanted the 351 Cleveland not the 351 Windsor. Not that the Windsor wasn't a good engine, it's just the Cleveland was a little better.

2:02 I recognize that type of bumper damage as someone wrapped a tow strap around it and pulled it, crushing the bumper exactly like that

Used the stop slip just like Scotty said to save my Jeep Grand Cherokee with 280,000mi when the trans cooler line split and shot fluid all over the HW

Lucas Stop Slip and oil stabilizer are some really, truly great products. Put some of both in my old Volvo five speed with 400k miles, they jive well with the type F fluid. It's quieter, shifts slick, overdrive engages faster, and runs a few degrees cooler by my IR thermometer.

I own a 2002 Camry. V6. These are the make, model and year Scotty always refers to as the rock-solid super-dependable, reliable and durable cars. It has over 200K miles, still runs as it did when I got it (at 66,000 miles), uses no oil. The internals of the drive-train etc. are good for another 100K or so, since I do use the Scotty Kilmer recommended over-maintenance schedule since I owned it. And when it was new-to-me I agonized over every chip and scratch, washed twice a week and waxed it once a month no less. After all that time the cosmetic damage just added up how it does - the dark grey painted is peeled on top surfaces and every panel has some kind of damage. Nevertheless, the insides are what really count after all, so IDC how it looks and no immediate plans to dump it. Now 20 years later, something changed in my value system, none of this stuff bothers me anymore and good riddance to that OCD stuff - realizing I stopped caring about such things, is one of the most liberating feelings I have ever felt.

Same my 07 Yaris has bumps and scrapes, some hail damage, rear bumper has a small dent etc and I would wash it all the time, I was even parking away from other vehicles. I realized my car is kinda beat up on the outside so I just said f it with all that fine detailing stuff. I mean I still keep it clean but not all OCD about it. The inside will forever stay clean though haha

I had a old manual transmission truck and the trans got so hot the shifter would hurt your hand. Put Lucas in it and it ran alot cooler, lost most of the bearing noise and was still going when I sold it. Had tried amsoil synthetic before the Lucas, it didn't help

I used Do reconditioning for Galpin Ford. In Van Nuys Ca. And they paid me to find every Clean F150 - F350 . They gave me Cash. And I would buy them as if I was the buyer. Then have them towed by a Privet Tow company. Wish a Buddy of mine does from when we worked at Make a wish Charity. And they would go threw them and Resell them or Lease them. The Dummy I was. I never thought to get myself one 🤔🙄

My 1995 E150 Econoline van with 5.0 still runs great. I have driven it a lot for a year now all over the USA. Just had front end aligned after tires were rotated. The toe in was not adjusted right which was wearing the inside of the front tires. It's paid for, it earns money as a service van and is very dependable with cold A/C.

Seem to notice when it comes to buying old trucks the two wheel drive ones seem to be in better shape and seem to have lasted longer because they don't get beat on as much because they don't drive in the snow and they don't get off-roaded and guys that drive two wheel drive trucks tend to drive them slower than guys who drive four wheel drives cuz they're usually have a purpose they usually a work truck... The best are the base model 2 wheel drive old guy trucks with a cap preferably with a clutch pedal and usually their babied to hell never more than half throttle and maintained to the gills

Yep, assuming you maintain your vehicle, the longevity is largely influenced by driving style. I laugh at all these people flooring it on every green light. You do that 10, 20 times a day and your vehicle is going to pay the price down the road, while conservative drivers will still have a nice, problem-free vehicle.
