Thank you very much for the tip w/Fiberglass and silicon, I'll use it to repair some defects in my headliner. I have couple questions. When I removed the headliner I had impression that the top wires were attached w/Scotch tape to the headliner, but now i think they might just stick to the headliner, but actually were attached to the metal ceiling. can you attach them to the ceiling w/tape? And another question : when I cleaned the old foam, in some places there was some layer pilled off, like thin fabric or paper, not sure what it is. So now, should I pilled it off everywhere, or I can live it and the foam will attach and dissolve that layer (I hope it is some kind of paper layer), but maybe when the headliner is in that condition, it can't be renewed w/a new layer of foam fabric. how much contact adhesive do you use for a single headliner?

why would you overlay the headliner, eventually the glue is going to release on the original. just remove the original and brush off the backing, then glue in the new headliner material. great fiberglass repair but believe this fell short for best resolve.
