My name Sara and I'm from the Middle East from were I come people who are from Lgbt are sentence to death in my country. In my case I don't agree with the laws in my country and I believe that everyone are equal to love. Thanks for telling me ur story Shane it really inspired me. I watched the film on Harvey Milk with my parents. they remember being alive during that time. I cried at the end because I didn't know the ending until that moment. I thought that stories like this need to be heard more often so we can prevent other stories of tragedy from happening. Shane I would like to invite you to be a part of a fictional novel I am writing. I want to either create a character for you, tell your story in the book, or both. You inspire so many people I hope you will help me continue to inspire.

Shane, On June 26, 2013 It was a Great Day for State of California! To hear the Supreme Court Ruling on Prop 8 and DOMA. I was overjoyed and yet saddened, I thought of You and Tom's Love... Love is love. No matter your color, age, religion, gender, etc... Love is love. Jews fought for their rights during the Hitler years. African Americans in the 60s. And now lgbt. It's a fight that you'll have to win, because losing is not an option. While I am a Christian and believe the Bible, I also know that homosexuality is not a choice. Just as the color of your skin or your height, it's something you're born with. So then, how can it be wrong? Love comes in all forms, and I applaud you for expressing yours. Because of what you're doing today, the Toms and Shanes of the future will not have the same struggle. Thank you.

I just want to say thankyou, from Canada. My husband and I just watched your documentary and are so blessed to have people like you still fighting for the equal rights for all gay people. We are fortunate to live in a country that recognises our right to love who we love and marry who we marry. When I watch this video and you mentioned the Netherlands, I honestly felt so proud to be Dutch, my best friend is very openly gay and I'm so glad that he has all the same rights as me and he doesn't have to struggle and fight. Tough I'm glad that he doesn't have to fight for his rights I root for everyone in the world that is strong enough to fight for equal rights and I will always support the LGBT community

Hey shane my condolences to you and your family, no one should have to go trough the pain you went trough, but hearing you speak about this it very touching and every single word you said needs to be heard. Shane, thanks for the really interesting video. I am in the closet and having the hardest time coming to terms with myself and the family. I know if I told the family they will dis own me. Alberto L - move on is not so easy when you lose your love tragically and on top of it go thru what Shane did because of Toms relatives. He is being selfless in his fight to get equality for all and share his story. Grow up dude
